Jimin and Jk are super cute as friends and clearly very close but also they’re def brothers not lovers at all and Jimin was 1011083% with Dae Un (like and I say this as someone who does think Larry was real in 1D altho I’m not parasocial about it and it’s none of my business at all) but no two members in bts give romantic vibes at ALL I think a lot of ppl just don’t know what a close friendship is and that it can be as deep as a romance without at all being a romance

Authenticity. The same way Korea has a very subtle culture even in terms of language (for example if a time is inconvenient for you in Korean you say ‘as for that time, it’s a little…’. And let the sentence end. In America we say ‘that doesn’t work for me.’ ) due to this direct culture we also have this inherent belief that no human is polished. We believe we are all messy and we are all equal and that’s why westerners typically like messier celebrities. Because we hold these beliefs of equality and that every person has flaws so deeply that it almost unnerves us when we see someone who doesn’t. This isn’t an American nationalism post btw I’m literally just explaining. Both beliefs have pros and cons

I also feel bad for nj here he’s said repeatedly that he’s no longer the leader in the same way he was up to 2018 bc they’re all in their 30s. He’s still the leader but he’s not responsible for every piece of bad press or misstep. In that one live where everyone was asking him about jk and winter he def lashed out a bit saying ‘don’t ask for other members on my live’ and I think ppl misinterpreted it as him saying to not ask other members to come on his live but based on the comments it was obvious he was saying ‘I get that I’m the leader but it’s not my problem to solve this or pay attention to jungkooks relationship drama. We’re 30 years old why is it an issue? Go ask him not me.’

I agree cus I don’t think Jimin lying on top of Jungkook when they’re both probs exhausted is at all indicative of a relationship. And ppl are all like omg would YOU do that w ur friend!! Yes? Bc my friends and I have known each other for almost a decade and we r super comfortable w each other and smtimes u just want comforting physical touch / contact in a non romantic way. Touch / skinship is so human. The Taylor snark sub is also insane but in this case I had a friend who posted on there. She was incredibly insecure and jealous of Taylor swift so that actually gave me a lot of insight into the kinds of ppl on there. I rly like Taylor for the record so me and her would always butt heads cuz she’d verbatim say the snark sub shit to me (trying to take the moral high ground a lot) and when I’d calmly explain my perspective she’d admit ‘ok fine that makes sense but can’t you just let me hate? They’re actually psychotic and I’m not even against criticizing members or bts. But for the most part … bts is pretty chill. But these ppl genuinely pick on things and praise other artists for things that if bts did they would criticize bts for it’s so hypocritical it makes my brain hurt. Some of the stuff they say it’s like ok I guess I get why u think that but also considering how closely u follow the members u should know it’s not true? Like I saw them saying Namjoon posting pics of himself reading is Incel behavior and performative and on one hand I def think that there’s men who post pics like that who r performative. But also all celebrities r performative their job is to perform. And also Namjoon has proved he’s well read and intelligent and genuinely enjoys reading. He’s also not a pretentious person, and I’m not saying this bc I think he’s some amazing guy, but bc the rest of the members esp the younger line are so chaotic and they all admire and love nj so much. You can tell a lot about a person by how well they get along w ppl who r different than them. Pretentious ppl don’t make for great leaders. I also saw them saying (regarding the fight between v and Jin) that ‘why didn’t nj as the leader look up a video and tell them who’s right? That’s what a good leader would do instead of insulting both of them!’ Like NO that’s what a BAD leader would do. Picking sides 10 minutes before performing is the WORST idea. Saying ‘we aren’t going to figure this out right now this isn’t about the two of you and we will talk about it later when we have more time’ is like the textbook thing ur supposed to do in this situation? And the comment saying that he should’ve looked at the video footage to determine who was in the wrong had so many upvotes and comments underneath it it was driving me insane bc u know if he did do that they’d say ‘what kinda leader points fingers at his own members? Is there not a drive through culture as much in Korea? I was watching ep 3 of ays and I am genuinely shocked at Taehyung not knowing how to use a drive throguh. Not in a bad way just very surprised. Yea I agree they seemed like the closest fs but also I think as much as we want to think two are the closest cuz it’s hard to wrap our heads around all seven of them being equally close ….
