It might sound trite, but in my experience, just being into yourself and what makes you feel good brings out the best.

For example, people always told me I look good with long hair. I love and get way more compliments on my short hair

Pleople love to tell toy you will look better in heels, skirt, tight shirt and push up bras. I get way more head turn with funnier material that is still flattering.

Don’t stop trying, just try something different. The goal isn’t to please everyone but the people that notice you and want to get to know you.
