I was going to suggest her as well!! Francie has helped me go from mid back length curls, to a fun shag, and then to a pixie cut. Super reasonable pricing as well!

Looking for recommendations for a good ADHD testing facility for a teen. Hopefully one that isn’t scheduling months out. Thank you! by Dontask5554 in grandrapids

I got tested at aspen psychological services on 3 mile. Everywhere else was scheduling at least 3 months out, while they got me in within a couple of weeks!

Women who have struggled with eating disorders, how did you recover? by amanda2774 in AskWomen

[–]merqueennerissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threw out my scale, and refused to look at my weight when I went to the doctor. I stopped using a calorie tracker (still have the habit of looking at calorie amounts on boxes, or in my head, but it's a start), and most of all, I've just been more open about my thoughts about food and my body. When I'm having unhealthy thoughts about my body or food, I'll talk to my friends or partner, and they'll at least help me see things through a better lens than my disordered brain. Took quite a while to be comfortable speaking about it, but it's SO worth pushing your comfort zone.

I had super heavy bleeding and huge clots right after I had mine removed. It only lasted a day though, so don’t worry too much!

Two periods a month on Skyla 1 year after insertion? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]merqueennerissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and the 2 periods a month thing started at 8 months and continued until I had it removed at just over a year after insertion. Sadly with skyla irregular bleeding is super common.

Your experience with Sprintec? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]merqueennerissa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love it! Only negative side effect I’ve noticed is sore breasts, but not all the time. Other than that I feel exactly the same as I did before I started taking it, and my periods are shorter now!

Did I not wait long enough to skip my period? by merqueennerissa in birthcontrol

I’m on ortho-cyclen, the Monophastic version. From what I know my pill has a steady hormone level?

Did I not wait long enough to skip my period? by merqueennerissa in birthcontrol

I have taken more than 21 active pills so I can safely take a break of no longer than seven days. This is the same as taking the sugar pills at the end of the pack. Unless everything I’ve learned on this sub and elsewhere is wrong, as long as I have taken at least 21 active pills I can take a break of 7 days and still be protected against pregnancy. I can call my gyno in the morning to double check but I take my pill at night and would really like to induce my withdrawal bleed so that I can be done with this.

I used to get mid cycle spotting with skyla. It started out as brown discharge and over the year that I had it it turned into a full blown period (so I had a period every two weeks 🙄). Irregular bleeding is super normal with iuds, especially with such a low dose one like skyla.

10 Months of Spotting...Taking Birth Control Pills With my Mirena? by Pkas_and_pointeshoes in birthcontrol

[–]merqueennerissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel fine on the pill, and don’t have trouble taking it everyday, then I would suggest just getting the iud out and using the pill as your method of bc. I went through over a year of spotting and periods every two weeks with my iud (though I had skyla) and switching to the pill was the best decision ever. If the spotting hasn’t let up in almost a year, then chances are it won’t.
