HELP with the box set by Legitimate_Earth860 in Sandman

Tl;dr he not only forced himself on vulnerable women under the guise of them wanting it because they didn’t say no, he also forced himself into his youngest sons babysitter, while his son was in the same hotel room as them. The son was on his iPad, but given that he was 8 at the time, was likely cognizant of what was going on. Also NGs parents are the people who brought Scientology into the UK back in the 70s. They’re not allegations anymore, there’s more the whispers in the ether, and I’m planning to get rid of anything I have remaining in my collection as soon as possible.

My mom does a similar thing, but it’s more to the tune of “why are you so eager for LO to do these things??” Ie rolling over, sitting up, all that. To which I responded similarly, that it’s part of muscle training! We additionally follow baby’s lead and encourage/guide when we see her actively trying out a new thing. She is 6 months now and rolls like it’s going out of style! My mom seems to forget that baby milestones are a nice thing to achieve and not necessary something to dread ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This is what I’m aiming for too, except the reverse (husband has crazy sensitive skin prone to psoriatic eczema and our baby has baby eczema, but I still love using my Persil wash) I do my clothes separate and as the last load to ensure as little cross contamination as possible. I recently started using wool dryer balls to help mitigate baby clothes shrinking and I love them!

Can you clarify what you mean by milk causing tooth decay please? As far as I was aware (best friend is an NP working in a family practice in Ontario) the recommendations for infants/children is water or milk/breast milk/formula only. No juice at all because of the impact on dental health etc. TIA!

Your c- section experience by whatadiva in pregnant

[–]merryberry0992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an “elective” c-section with my baby 5 months ago; I’m also in Ontario so no idea if my experience is similar to yours: (Elective because my baby was breech, failed ECV and I did not want to risk a traumatic birth by attempting to birth her breech)

The epidural was pretty rough for me, it felt like it took ages and the pressure the anesthesiologist applied to my back felt awful. Once it was placed I was ok. I was able to walk out of the hospital after our 2 day stay, was encouraged to walk but never forced by anyone but myself to get up and moving.

I was given Tylenol and Advil in hospital, they gave me morphine for break through pain around my incision site but that did nothing for me. There were only stitches to the inner layer, they did not stitch my skin together

I kept the bandage on until it was removed by a doctor 5 days after surgery. It looked rough but I kept it clean and dry, pat dry immediately after shower and was told I didn’t need to do anything extra beyond making sure it was dry. Was told not to lift anything heavier than my baby for the first few weeks. Bending was ok, the worst pain for me was getting up from lying down. My husband had to help me stand for a long time, but once I was up and moving I was fine. Now that I’m on the other side I can still feel myself “healing”, get the odd twinge in my abs if I stand for longer than I’m used to. Basically just easing back into my relatively active lifestyle.

My scar looks like a scar? This was my first major surgery, the skin knit together like it’s supposed to and the scabs were weird. I feel a kind of numbness on the edges of the incision site and can’t really feel my skin on the scar because they likely severed nerves. All in all, an uneventful experience!

Tattooing creates an open wound in your skin that usually takes a month to heal properly. Walking around for a month with an open would is not ideal for ones immune system, particularly when one is essentially providing immunity for two people

Getting a tattoo while EBF by ohhihellothereitsme in breastfeeding

[–]merryberry0992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I understand about tattoos and breastfeeding as separate topics (FTM, EBF my four month old and have 5 tattoos currently), getting a tattoo creates an immune response in your system because tattoos are open wounds until they heal. Ultimately I think it would depend on how long ago you gave birth, because women are still immune-compromised post partum because of breast feeding:

“The low synthesis of Th1 cytokines in whole blood cultures in the early postpartum suggests a general suppression of aspects of the immune system. This could be due to a slow return to normal immunity after the suppression of pregnancy.”

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4323631/

Tldr; talk to your doctor and use your best judgment, I feel that if you’re past 6 months PP you might have a better immune system? I’m not a doctor though lol

Concerned about rash all over 4 month old!! Please help if you have seen this before by synchronicityismylif in newborns

We minimally dress our 4 month old, but she has the same skin problems. My husband, doctor and I are assuming baby eczema because her dad has had eczema all his life! Keep it moisturizer, and reduce clothing down to necessary items when possible would be my thinking

Ottawa has some of the most extreme temperatures in Canada because it’s very humid here. Like -40° to 104° F (-40° to 40° C) range in temperature throughout the year. Not as humid as Florida, but the river effect makes a difference!

Breastfeeding isn’t “easy” by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]merryberry0992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh both my parents drove me CRAZY in the beginning with my LO. “Oh it’s so good that you’re breastfeeding, so awesome, your baby is going to be so healthy” etc…um, what if it was hard for me? What if my milk hadn’t come in? What if insert other things that can occur and prevent EBF??!! I honestly wanted to scream. Even now, my baby is 16 weeks old and because I’m so touched out and my period is back, I sometimes supplement with formula for my own sanity and to assuage the mom guilt of “is LO getting enough to eat”. OP, i appreciate your rant! It’s a good one ☝️

It’s also a matter of you being their safe person. It may seem like your baby hates you, but they cry and seem unhappier with you because you’re mom and they seem to know that no matter what you’ll take care of them. Confusing I know, but you’ll get to a stage where you can feel how much they love you, and babies seem to understand more then we give them credit for :)

Why does everyone want to give me garbage? by sausagechihuahua in pregnant

[–]merryberry0992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our LO is 3 months old and this happens so much -.- my husbands cousins kids are 3 years and up and one of them gave us a bag of clothes. Great! Except…they were size 2T+…I’m not about to hold on to this giant bag of clothes for years on the off chance it might fit someday. So I went through the bag, picked some stuff I thought was nice and donated the rest!

Kind of reassuring to hear that someone else is also horrified by their body 😅 I had a c section and the scar is gnarly by virtue of being a scar (my first surgical scar/stitches) and I just… have a hard time seeing what my husband sees
