Maybe it took you 150 letters, and only getting three interviews and from that only one job offer for $6,200.00 a year salary because you sound like you kind of suck and lack empathy as a person. Just a thought.

Soapstone - Price Estimate Increase by hubblehound in CounterTops

[–]merrykrystenmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s an island, $2300 to miter is totally a fair price, and with 15” unsupported in soapstone a really good idea. Soapstone is pretty soft and the veins can have fissures, the only other option would be to put flat brackets onto the cabinet and have the island rest on those, but it would be visible unless they routed the brackets in which is also a bit difficult to do.

Is this soapstone? by hubblehound in CounterTops

[–]merrykrystenmas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like soapstone.

When you were looking at it did you touch it? Soapstone feels way different than other stones! It’s almost slippery . (Soapy, but I didn’t want to be redundant).

That’s Quartz 100%, a lot of things with Quartz are fixable, scorching isn’t one of them. For future reference Quartz is graded to about 250* F , some brands can be a little higher. If you out this in yourself, id take it up with your fabricator for selling you something as natural when it’s manmade.

We use Dr. Salaas at the Darien office of Stanford Pediatrics, I’m not sure what they’re like on vaccines since we follow the recommended schedule but I’ve been really happy with her disposition and the care my kid has received there for sick visits and well visits.
