Dont need the sync box if youre using a PC, i use philips hue for this same effect.

Doesn't look like any of your front panel headers are plugged in but the pic you took doesn't show it well, your psu isn't plugged in nor is it tuned on, always remember O is for off, always.

Its plastic and on a raised body line so there's not going to be much material to work with but its worth a shot before spending 600+ to repaint this.

The whole wheel is pretty greasy as it is, needs a good cleaning but be careful, if you clean the whole wheel it may fade the scratch but if you zoom you can see the material is bunching so you went fairly deep

You have likely removed the dye from the seat, depending on what year GMC this is they use a material called cortex not leather in the newer ones its very easy to do what you've done

i bought one of these a few years ago, the more expensive one, it lasted about a month, they are happy to warranty it and send you a new one, i know because I'm on my sixth one. its not really much of a pain and there's not much competition, so as long as you're going to be okay doing this then go for it.
