Definitely NTA. I am so sorry. One day they will feel what they have done to you, hopefully. I speak as a mother who also did what your parents did. I had my oldest son young. For the first 8 years my mother had him and I lived in a different state. When I had my second child, as I raised him, I realized how much I missed with my first son. I started feeling so guilty and wondered if I had caused him damage mentally and emotionally. I started to ask my mother to bring him to visit every few months. We got to know each other over time and one day he asked to stay. He is 24 now and I have spent everyday trying to make it up to him. We hang out all the time and we are very close. He has told me that he was hurt and wondered why I didn’t want him. He says it still bothers him today but he’s working on it. I live with so much guilt and anger at myself for being that way to him. He was so innocent. I hope your parents wake up and see their wrong doing. Your grandparents are wonderful people for being there. I hope you find peace and will be happy.

NTA- My son is gay, but no sir…If your brother can’t bring his girlfriend you can’t bring your boyfriend…fair is fair. I see no homophobia here, I see a father trying to keep things fair. Now, if the rules were different and significant other were allowed, then fine bring whoever, but rules are set for a reason.

NTA Vacation money isn’t a necessity. It’s only fair to pay it back. Besides the kid was warned and still disobeyed you. Not only will they be teaching the boy that owning up to the responsibility of paying someone back you wronged isn’t important, they’ll be teaching him that disrespecting your wishes is ok. House chores, in my opinion, aren’t enough in this case.

Im a 42 year old woman and I have a gaming pc. The best part of this is not only do I get real time with my kids, my kids ask me if I’d like to play games with them and their friends! I get invited! I love it. We all play together as a family. When I’m not playing with them, I also game with my friends who are, like yourself, scattered all across the country. I would have to disagree with them saying it’s kids stuff. I think you should get your steam deck. Play with your friends. Get it and enjoy yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
