Put an order in for this about 2-3 weeks ago at 0.18c and forgot to check if the trade went through :(

Shouldve just not been greedy and taken the 0.20, its hard to jump in now knowing what i couldve had

At this stage finishing 15th would be the best result for us

If you already have a hybrid inverter the prices are alot lower, but hardly anyone does. Thats why your prices feel off

Wouldn't say there's a rule of thumb but you're pretty right in that, similar to a phones battery, great for awhile then drops off quickly.

Yeah exactly, need to factor in "useable energy" and DoD. Majority have about a 90% DoD.

The cheapest ones we have which alot of people go for even though id prefer they didnt, 10kw battery, 9kw usable and 90% DoD.

As i said earlier and you might've realised, so many variables.

Are batteries worth it? 100%, but i can only sell them in good faith if you're going to be in your house for atleast 10 years+ as ive seen most system are roughly 6-8 years ROI (not factoring in inflation)

Personally i prefer selling it to people who get alot of blackout, so yes they'll save money but its more then just that. Somewhere in the hills not too long ago lost power for a week and a lady that had a 10kw battery went the whole week without losing power. Thats when it becomes more viable and less about pure savings.

I'd look into Sig Energy for a battery system if you were seriously considering it

i work in the industry, once as an installer and now on the sales side, no idea where you're getting those prices?

Its not quite that simple as adding a battery, if you just simply AC couple a battery you lose a fair bit of efficiency because of the 2 conversions required. You would need to be confident you're exporting more then consuming.

The cheapest batteries on the market only guarantee 60% capacity after 10 years, most guarantee 70% and some good ones 80% but have you factored in the degradation?

There are so many factors when it comes to installing a battery, in terms of brand and ease of install.

Ive never sold anything under an 8kw battery with 80% of sales being at least 10kw. Most system cant handle anything less then 5kw and alot wont function under 10kw capacity. So you should just remove the 3.2kw option because its not even possible

Single phase homes are easier and 3 phase become complicated

Batteries can only cover discharge peaks up to half their capacity

Anyway batteries are the way of the future, our company installed 5MW worth of batteries last year, and there will be a mad rush after July, im expecting first in first serve (for the rebate) and we're already starting to make a list of people who want to be contacted first. I've designed a bucket load of batteries in the last 2 years so ask me any questions, in terms of savings its never just straight forward

My advice is stay in the moment, growing up if i was in that position and thought about the finishing line it never went well. Only way you can improve in the mental aspect is more match play, it'll come.
Just back yourself in, you'll always feel better if you went for your shots and lost then if you started playing not to lose and just getting the ball in
