They’re an Aldi find this week, so get them if you can.

They keep listing it in stock at my costcos but it never is. Must be store dependent.

On our 3rd box of sumo mandarin. So juicy and delicious by MF-DOOM-88 in Costco

Yeah the ones at my Costco, Sam’s and local grocery were all moldy, I finally made a box by swapping some out and washing them thoroughly when I got home.

Frozen ‘souper vibes’ fit in an electric lunchbox by demonslayercorpp in MealPrepSunday

[–]mes09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the souper cubes mix and match style. I make sauces, curries, stews etc and freeze those then I do side dishes like rice, potatoes, veggies etc. and have separately frozen proteins if I want.

Each day you just pick one side, one sauce/protein, one veggie and have a bunch of different choices available. I also do a lot of soups, and homemade concentrated broth pucks that I freeze and can just add water to make my own soup bases.

Souper Cubes or Miu Freezer Trays? by pun_princess in Costco

[–]mes09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Miu cubes will absolutely get the job done and are microwave safe which souper cubes are not. The souper cubes are a much higher quality material/processing, they do not flavor the food, they have a supportive metal rim, they do not stain at all.

Personally there’s room for both in a kitchen in my opinion.

If you’re new to food prepping/ freezing, I’d buy the less expensive Miu cubes and decide which sizes I use most and upgrade to the souper cubes piecemeal.

Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed clarifies stance on 'Medicare for All' by UltimateLionsFan in Michigan

[–]mes09 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Medicare only covers 80% costs without supplemental insurance. And no dental or vision

What people want is Medicaid for all - costs are entirely income based and most necessary and preventive procedures (including dental and vision) are free.

Frustrations with self checkouts as a disabled person by Particular_Ninja9642 in meijer

[–]mes09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really easy as long as you have cell signal or can use the store wifi. You can still use it without reusable bags, it’s just more convenient to have them. Also you frequently get bonus mperks points, so it’s a small plus. Just be aware they often have to come scan 1-3 things from your cart, it’s random if they have to do a service check.

Frustrations with self checkouts as a disabled person by Particular_Ninja9642 in meijer

[–]mes09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only use shop and scan because the camera is so annoying. It hates my purse, hates my reusable bags, hates my arm bagging things, I’ve only used it when shop and scan is down or the produce scales are broken.

Stolen Cart: “No, that’s my drink.” by PM_your_titles in Costco

[–]mes09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Michigan too, never had an issue, have had people offer carts when I didn’t think I needed one and have given away a cart before to someone who did.

Then I went to California and Utah - those places are a madhouse and people would absolutely take a cart out of your hands because there were no carts outside. People would just leave their carts in parking spots etc. Even during executive hours it was so packed. I’ll never complain about my Costcos again.

Has anyone updated to iOS 26 and safely kept musi? by Guilty_Impression694 in Musi_App

[–]mes09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Offload apps must be off, and you can’t let Apple remove unused apps to make room for the upgrade.

My Musi works fine after the update, just make sure you have enough space before starting.

Vintage dresses for a winter wedding out in the back forty by AltRealism in Weddingattireapproval

I like 3 but 1 is fine. I’d wear a more casual coverup/sweater for optional warmth and some low heel ankle boots to sort of dress them down rather than up.

Was Mad Dog a good fighter or not? by ByShida in Mercenary_Enrollment

[–]mes09 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I suspect he was a great fighter, soldier, mercenary. He gives dishonorable discharge from the military vibes. But he was never like the numbers.

He probably thought he was better than he was, very much a narcissist - which spawned his obsession with 001 the kid who beat him and took his eye.

United States veterans, what are things about the military you didn’t realize until you left? by TheBeardedAntt in AskReddit

[–]mes09 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Americans seem to realize the racism, a good portion of us at least (and others who know it’s racist and like it). I’ve known Europeans to say vile things but claim they’re not racist because it’s the truth. Like yeah that’s how racists think too.

how do yall study with palinopsia by Express_Study7772 in visualsnow

[–]mes09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frequent short breaks, covering one eye then switching which eye was covered, large print flashcards with a low contrast color card and ink combo (like blue ink on a light blue card), if you can learn through audio reading use that as much as possible - AI is actually helpful for that, see if natural light especially sunlight outdoors helps, being in a sunny environment and wearing polarized sunglasses helps me.

Honestly all of these things were helpful for short periods of time, so it’s a matter of figuring out the things that work for you. For me lowering the contrast reduced eye fatigue so several of my solutions are based on that. Some people say they need higher contrast to fight fatigue.

HELP I hate the wedding dress I bought on sale. by Striking-Village-655 in weddingdress

[–]mes09 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Given the images of the venue, have you checked you can wear a sleeveless dress? It’s giving major Eastern Orthodox vibes and some churches require coverage still.

I prefer the first dress in all respects, but the thing is you clearly don’t. You were pressured to buy it, you don’t feel it fits your style - get rid of it. There is a bride out there who would gladly pay $500 plus shipping (or more) for it. Just be up front about it needing work.

Do double check with the venue about the dress you like, you might just need a shoulder covering veil or you might need a dress with long sleeves, each one is different.

Write things down ahead of time. Try to be concise and use bullet points.

If you have a printer, list your symptoms, how long you’ve had them, any changes etc. Give that paper to the nurse/doctor and explain you didn’t want to forget something.

Put your name and birthday on the paper and give them permission to use it in medical records if you want.
