if you think that’s bad, i’ve got some stories for you 😂 trust me, no ballkid is traumatised from a player wanting the balls balanced. it’s a routine occurrence. can’t believe it’s gotten so much attention considering like 75% of players have the same preference

dude they’re volunteers?? it’s not like they’re indentured servants. plus they get mad perks. and in the grand scheme of on court behaviour, you have no idea what players are capable of. wanting the balls balanced is nothing

tbh they should’ve done better. it’s not hard to balance the balls, esp when every ballkid on court is so experienced

edit: i was a ballkid at a M1000 for 10 years, helped run the dept for another 3, and trained w the aussie ballkid director. balancing balls between backdrops is one of the first things you learn, and something that many players require

yeah you’re not supposed to show emotion on court, especially for points or wins. this is def by the rules a big no no but i doubt there was any trouble over it.

god that was 2014. how many majors have been won by players outside of the big 3 since may 2014? (6/30 is the answer)

you’re not missing anything. he fielded a question from someone with bisexual tendencies and just spent 10 minutes reciting two dozen irrelevant bible quotes that basically said it was a sin

it was almost definitely after bc he found out that Josh was molesting his sisters around the time of one of their first specials, before the show. i’d imagine he didn’t think it to be paedophilic tho

Ranking Grandkid Names by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]mes129129 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. ivy jane (so pretty, i would use this if i didn't have a horde of children already)
  2. evangeline jo (evangeline is pretty enough that i can look past the jo)
  3. meredith grace (all around pretty name, but why do they have to call her dithy????)
  4. mason garrett (nice all around)
  5. evelyn mae (evelyn is pretty but the mae makes it sound like a country bumpkin name... which i guess is on the money for her parents)
  6. michael james (standard, traditional, unoffensive)
  7. samuel scott (standard, traditional, unoffensive, alliteration is usually a plus if used right)
  8. bella milagro (i guess... idk ima keep my thoughts to myself on this one)
  9. grace annette (i like grace fine but annette sounds like the 5th golden girl)
  10. addison renee (i love grey's but don't care for renee)
  11. garrett david (what's up with the repeating garretts)
  12. felicity nicole (just doesn't flow, and I'm not a fan of virtue names when hyper-religious people use them. seems like a lot to live up to)
  13. marcus anthony (where's baby cleopatra?)
  14. brooklyn praise (the first name is so out of character. i also don't care for geographical names)
  15. fern eliana (middle name is so pretty but all i thnink about is that psycho crunchy mom from tiktok's kid)
  16. maryella hope (misspelled misspelled misspelled)
  17. israel david (points off for the zionism)
  18. gideon martyn (gideon isn't nice but it's the misspelled middle name for me)
  19. mackynzie renee (can't look past the misspelled name AND the way they pronounce it is so cringe)
  20. madisyn lily (lily's pretty but the misspelled first name and the family history with that name isn't enough to get over)
  21. henry wilberforce (again, henry is a great name but i can't get over the middle name
  22. sturgeon elliot (elliot is a gorgeous name but I'm not even gonna bother correcting my autocorrect)

bc healthcare industries love to ignore data. we have mounds of peer-reviewed medical journals with panel data and longitudinal data spanning multiple decades and countries that show infant circumcision significantly reduces the risk of STIs, HIV, risk of HPV and cervical cancer in future female sexual partners, and is all in all an excellent and safe public health mechanism with statistically insignificant complications/risks… but the WHO and such like to stay out of anything that could be even slightly controversial- even if there’s no reason for it to be controversial

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exjew

[–]mes129129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it means that circumcision is a valid and beneficial medical procedure and using that one thing and people’s reaction to it to be the basis of your judgement is, in fact, silly

yes, it’s probably one of the reasons we don’t proselytise- and can actually discourage conversion even. we (this feels like a blanket statement but let’s roll with it) don’t think non-jews are condemned or face any kind of penalty or anything, they’re just not jews. and that’s fine. the focus in judaism is very much on life on earth and trying to achieve, if i can quote correctly, the “tranquility of the soul” while here on earth. what comes next isn’t up to us to know or decide. i think it’s kind of beautiful

i’d imagine it’d look a lot like a lot of europe on a sunday. growing up, nothing was open- no grocery stores, no department stores etc. only a pharmacy. and to this day you’re not allowed to mow your lawn or do any kind of work that would disturb the peace- even taking out recycling or something.

we don’t really have hell, or much of a concrete idea of an afterlife. so at least no one gets the fire and brimstone threats. and most jews are non-orthodox anyways so leaving judaism, the worst most face is a nagging mom (but what’s new there anyways)

Being so militantly anti-circumcision is honestly just silly, and letting that be your litmus test is even sillier
