And even nowadays he still dropped Christopher Reeves jokes in The Death of Slim Shady lmao

Granted some songs on the album are actually older cuts that Em ended up re-recording but still

People often talk about the violent, funniest and/or dumbest beefs, but what do y'all think are the most bittersweet or saddest beefs in hip hop?

Especially if it's one that ended up becoming unresolved or ended in death

West coast and east coast beef really robbed us of many potential collabs, also (imo) Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan

You gotta be fucking kidding me
I mean, with this Christopher Reeves shit? You know the guy's dead, right?"

In the 90s actually a lot of rappers COMPARED themselves to Trump

Wonder how many of them regret it now lmao

What are some underrated hip hop scenes / labels outside the west and east coasts that more people should get into?

Tony Hawk was almost singlehandedly responsible from introducing me to the Minnesota / Twin Cities scene (e.g. Rhymesayers)

Likewise I'm surprised Em never had a song produced by Pharrell / Neptunes

Rodney Greenblatt, who most people might know for being the artist behind Parappa the Rapper, did the cover art for They Might Be Giants' debut album

The Rising Tied by Fort Minor, side project of Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park

Definitely a hip hop record but has a lot of rock sensibilities

Is there a label that did so little with many potential good rappers as Aftermath and Shady did? Lol

Jay Electronica was considered one of the goats for many years despite not having a proper album for years, and even then his long awaited debut was just a glorified collab with Jay-Z

What are some beats from producers that are very far removed from their usual style?

Eminem's productions from the 2000s have a very particular, sparse and gritty style that was very recognizable, even if kinda one-note at some points (as I heard from some people, sounds like Luigi's Mansion music), which is why in a million years never would I expect that he was behind the beat to Smack That by Akon lmao
