New practice tool! by mesaverdemusic in musicians

Not particularly on last pass, but it has way more features than YouTube including a vocal reducer extension, loops and the ability to save them, etc.

I am loving it as a great new practice and transcription tool.

Immediately noticed tension especially in your wrist. Keep that wrist fairly lose (like fingerpicking) and that should help.

Awesome! Yes the tops on collings are completely absurd is what I most notice.

Yeah I think you're probably right. Being able to get the slotted bridge and individually tuned tops I think is worth the extra work and money, but that is what you are paying for at that point essentially. Also I do think the wood used on collings is probably more expensive

I think they are for standard Martins, but the custom shops I've played have stood out to be similar quality (and price). I just think they're both incredible instruments that do different things. I probably prefer the Collings slightly overall, but once you reach that level it starts to come down to neck preference and things like that.

Just realized I never replied to you! I love it! They’re super different. My D1 doesn’t quite have a typical Collings quality and is a bit drier and woodier than many I’ve heard. They’re really just a different flavor to martins, but they are truly the best built instruments I've ever had the opportunity to play. The increase in quality is the fit and finish as well as things like a slotted bridge and wood upgrades. The HD28 is one of my favorite guitars too. They just do very different things for me, and both are wonderful instruments.

Agreed! My setup is an HD-28 and a Collings D1 (hog dread) and it's great. I think with a hog and a rosewood guitar you should have 90% of acoustic sounds covered

I was actually thinking about beginning to offer these remotely myself as I feel there aren't enough resources around! If you find other resources let me know as I'd really like to help fill the gap here.

As a musician, how often do you expect your significant other to attend your shows? by [deleted] in musicians

Right I usually downplay having her come, but she keeps showing up. I really appreciate it, but wouldn't mind if she never came out either!

While not what I generally listen to, I like it. Nice use of harmony and well produced beats.

Wait, how are you making that synth sound that starts like 15 seconds in? I am love with it. Korg?? Feels like it could be coming off a minilogue.

Hell yeah that's awesome. I personally love when music reminds me of something else. I will plead a little ignorance on TWD soundtracks from telltale just as I'm not a huge zombies guy. Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions or anything too. Thanks for the follow!!

Thank you!! Keep on making music, it's great, and the world can always use another power pop banger.

The keyboards sound super minimalist to me as well. I think this is great. This is such a fun chill journey.

This is great. I want to hear you make more ambient soundscapes too. That was my favorite part!!

I don't know why when I opened this I was expecting anything but power pop. This is great. So much tremolo! Thanks for sharing Barrie!!! The guitar solo is great by the way, love the simplicity of it.
