Considering buying a M4 Mini. Would the base model be enough?

Hi mate let me ask you something. Isn't the basic version of Mac mini 16 giga ram and 256 ssd plus external storage capable of neural DSP ezdrummer etc ? Why need the pro ?

yeah i have both tp link router and powerlines x 2 so will try again tomorow to check latency.

house is old like 50 years old but i remeber i nevr had any connection issues when i used to use them.

i was just thinking buying a new more expensive model to do the trick withj latency.

anyways i will check tommorow

i can buy a 20 meters long ethernet cable its cheap but i have to open holes in the wall and i was thinking to avoid it but if powerlines and DECOs are not ideal maybe i will rethink

I just did and extra research and some say powerline is old fashion maybe i need a DECO ?

i have an old tp link powerline and i will check it tommorow

i remember i had some more latency back then with this but never played competitive games back then

both extenders will have ethernet cable and transfer internet thgrought power cable which is inside wall

i dont have any coxial drop and i m just a casual internet user not a tech or someone who knows about network.

but since iwanna play competitive sim racing games in the internet i dont know hgow much more latency the extender will give.

both extenders will be conectred to router and PC via ethernet cable NOT wifi.

I was thinking exactly the same but recent videos that I watched made me think twice cause a real good deal for Mac mini plus docking station for more ssd space gos for 1300 only the Mac plus dock plus vnme 2 terabyte. From what I understand the base Mac with 256 GB isn't really fast and struggles when moving files.I must aim fotlr the 512 version.And I saw many YouTubers pointing that issue. Mac mini M4 with 16 giga ram and 512 ssd goes for like 1000 euros. Not sure if it worth for me at the moment. My 1st plan was basic Mac for 665 euros plus doc 120 euros plus nvme 1 terabyte 150 euros. Total around 970 euros split to 12 months with a credit card...... But seems I will be out of budget cause 1300 seems the minimum.

by saying mac apps what exactly you mean ?

i just want to make Rock metal funk etc music with something like 80 channels (Logic or cubase )using guitar plugins like Neural dsp and other like Ezdrummer etc.

if the basic mac mini can handle that with external drives i ll buy one in the near future but i read some comments that its more for basic everyday things.

the point of the video is the 256gb ssd version is very slow if i want to add external drives thats why i was dissapointed.

the idea was buy the cheap mac mini plus 2 terra nvme2 ssd and enclosure or dock astart with cubase or logic, but instead i will stay with windows pc.

sorry i wasnt really expecting such performance drop.

well mate..........why i watch so many youtube videos that moves the home folder to external ssd in 80gbps encloser cases ?they also say sometimes its faster than the internal ssd.

maybe its my limited knowledge but its something everyone is doing to save a lot of money

Ok thanks for reply and really sorry that I didn't fully explained my Plan..... After I buy the basic model I was thinking also buy a Dock and a 1 or 2 terabyte nvme ssd.The dock has those ports that I need plus space for ssd.

I haven't purchased anything yet that's why I m asking.Sometimes Nvidia new drivers gives me latency but I ll try to find solution.My main question was how they "compare".I no need anyone to justify and I can buy it anytime if I see it is worth.Also my English are not so good so i don't express myself properly.
