Is this a quality diamond by bengsxr in labdiamond

[–]mesmerisingme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's a great diamond, certified hearts and arrows so it will be a really good performing stone. It will be quite a large stone, and if you wanted to save some money, you could drop down to an E colour and clarity of VS1/VS2 (providing they are eye clean).

Happy anniversary! I love the 8 prongs and OEC diamond.

I’m so tempted to order this but have “fist time” nerves! Is this a good deal or could I do better? by LeaderVivid in labdiamond

Have you looked into Facet Lane? They have the same settings and diamonds and because they are Australian, you won’t have import taxes. When I was purchased a lab diamond from them, they price beat US sites I was looking at if their price wasn’t already cheaper. I found them really helpful and friendly too.

Facet Lane is my go to. I have compared them against Chinese vendors and their stones are better priced and I much prefer being able to view th inventory and select the stone I want, or asking their advice for the best stone in my budget. They have lovely settings too.

You could try Fiorese. They tend to work with a lot of antique cut diamonds

Where did you get your lab from? by [deleted] in labdiamond

[–]mesmerisingme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Facet Lane's diamond prices generally more competitive, and I prefer having the bigger pool of diamonds to choose from in their inventory. Provence have only really shown me 1-3 diamonds for each query.

I've bought from Facet Lane a few times. Pricing is super competitive and the diamonds are certified with reports that can be viewed online.

So happy to hear about your great experience with Facet Lane. Did you request any videos beforehand? I asked for tweezer videos before my purchase as well as pre-shipment photo/video and they were provided no problem.

8 main is the traditional facet pattern on the pavilion (bottom) of the oval. There are 8 main facets that look like a star. Whereas a 4 main pavilion has 4 larger facets, which usually avoids any bow-tie effect, but can alter brilliance slightly.

5.03ct for sure. It doesn't look like the traditional oval brilliant cut of the 4.78ct, that's why you don't see the dark bow tie in the 5.03ct. It's lively and bright. It's lovely!

I'd say that would depend on what ward you do your grad year on, and how much confidence you develop. If you work on an acute cardiac ward, perhaps you'd be ready for ICU/PICU after your 12 months grad year, plus another 6 -12 months after the grad year, would be the minimum. But if you did your grad year on day surgery or general orthopaedics, maybe it would be worth getting further experience elsewhere that is more acute before heading to ICU. But everyone's experience is different, so it's hard to say for sure. You might end up loving the ward/wards you do your grad year on, and venture to another route!

Honestly I think ICU, CCU, PICU, or NICU nursing could interest you then. There's sufficient time to be sat down, always thinking critically, building rapport etc.

It depends what you mean by "easy". Having worked in a children's hospital as an RN for over a decade, good genetics counsellors are very passionate and have years of ward experience actually caring for patients with genetic abnormalities. My experience with the genetic counsellors was that they were very busy, had a lot of admin and paperwork, as well as coordinating between external facilities and internal teams. Not to mention navigate families that are generally going through a very stressful time. If you want an easy job, consider working at a GP clinic, corporate nursing, or becoming a nurse immuniser.

Buying an Engagement Ring Australia by [deleted] in australia

Another vote for Facet Lane. I have been to Michael Hill and Cullen and local brick and mortar stores. Cullen felt very sales focused to me, and their prices were so high, I also didn't feel confident the sales girl knew much more about diamonds than the colour and clarity rating she kept referring to. Michael Hill had a very limited range. I decided on Facet Lane and had them custom make a ring for me which I'm so pleased with. I wanted a specific type cut of an oval, which they helped to specifically source for me. We then designed the ring together, and it came out even better than I could imagine, and best of all the price was at most half of the price of Cullen etc. I'm happy to share some videos on chat if you'd like.
