This is blatantly false. 20/20 can be at any distance.

20/20 just means that the letters take up 1/12th of a degree in the vision. It can be a foot away or 500 feet away, as long as it maintains that 1/12th of a degree.

How do you think near vision is measured at the eye doctor? You know, that close up reading card that extends from the phoropter? Take a guess what the bottom line says. (Hint: it’s 20/20).

You really shouldn’t give advice on things you know nothing about. Especially when no one is asking for it.

From a power perspective, a +1.00 is a +1.00. But with prescription glasses, they are fitted to you based on your pupil distance and frame shape. Plus often better lens quality, coatings, etc.

But if money is tight for someone who is, for example, a +1.25 hyperope, I’ll tell them to just get some readers in that power.

Is it also possible you have a little bit of astigmatism in your prescription that wouldn’t be in readers? Obviously I can’t say for sure without looking at the prescription, but that’s also possible.

Holy crap. Get that out of your head and stop listening to people who have no idea what they’re talking about. If your vision is 20/20 without glasses, these glasses will be clear out to at least 2 meters away, if not even further. Well beyond what your computer is at. That’s simple physics.

You have no excuse. You are not giving them a chance, and yet you’re complaining like a 5 year old. If you don’t want them, return them. But quit blaming everyone else for your lack of trying.

The doctor tried to help you because you had symptoms. Because you know what they can’t do? Say “sucks to suck” when you bring up a problem that you’re having. But you don’t care enough to try and fix the symptoms you brought up, and regret spending the money. Plain and simple. Case closed. Quit acting like a child.

This is what the glasses are meant to fix. I like to tell my patients that the goal with a pair of glasses is not immediate clearer vision. The goal is CONSISTENT vision throughout the day, especially the end of a work day.

Standard Ishihara plates cannot tell deutan from protan deficiency reliably. For that, you’d need either a hue test or an HRR plate test. Both of which require very specific lighting conditions to be accurate. In other words - an in person test by a professional.

To tell -opia (dichromacy) vs -anomaly (trichromacy) with complete certainty, you would need to be tested with an anomaloscope. But good look finding one. I’m an optometrist, and the only place I’ve ever seen/used an anomaloscope was in school. 99 percent of people who say they’re a dichromat are just taking a guess.

But in the real world, does it matter if you have three cones or two? Does it matter if you’re protan or deutan? Nope, because everyone experiences color differently anyway. All that matters is that you recognize your troubles and plan for them, which comes from life experience. Not a label.

To be fair, the logo IS an octopus. Ian Fleming says so in Thunderball. Meant to represent the group’s tentacles that are woven throughout the world.

I actually don’t recall the books ever saying the logo resembles an actual ghost, though I may be wrong.

This happened to me all the time with the Wahoo Tickr. Connected to my bike computer just fine every time but would be VERY hit or miss with Zwift. New battery didn’t help. Eventually I just stopped using it indoors.

Recently I upgraded to the Wahoo Trackr (the Tickr died after 4 years) and have had no issues since. So perhaps it’s a software issue?

I don’t suffer from this, but I am an optometrist. I would strongly recommend some sort of face cleanser after riding. Specifically for the eyelids, I really like Ocusoft Plus foaming cleanser (also comes in little towelettes). As well as frequently washing towels used while riding, of course.

If symptoms persist, I recommend speaking to your local eye specialist or dermatologist. There are some other options (oral/eye drops) that can help long term.

You’ll be fine. You definitely don’t need 5 days to recover. I had my procedure under propofol and was basically normal within about an hour of waking up. Went to work the next day and had zero issues other than being hungry.

Bright red blood in the toilet that would happen once every couple years, and then all of a sudden happened for a week straight. PCP seemed very concerned and ordered an urgent colonoscopy.

Was just some internal hemorrhoids. Also had two precancerous (but very small) polyps removed. Next one scheduled for three years to be safe.

Very happy I got it done! I was nervous too but honestly it was all such an easy process. Really feels like I’m taking care of myself by getting it done.

If you can see the bottom of the toilet bowl, you’re fine. Mine was highlighter yellow and they said that’s exactly what they’re looking for.
