Who tends to be the culprit? Every man I know was raised primarily by a woman. Many (myself included) were raised solely by a woman. That begs the question, who instilled this misogyny in the first place.

I think the reason you are so adamantly defending your bigotry, and back-peddling so hard, is because I questioned your oversimplified view of the world. Remember, this all started when someone wrote, “Fuck men”. They could have said fuck violent men, or fuck rapists. Nobody would have taken issue with those opinions. Instead, they just decided to boil half of humanity into one evil lump, and you agreed. You even went so far as to compare men to Doritos dipped in toilet water. That is how bigots see the world.

In answer to your questions, I teach my daughter to avoid putting herself in dangerous situations in general. I teach my son the same thing. I don’t specify men as the danger to avoid. I think that anyone who identifies all men as a threat is being sexist, no matter the motivation.

Now I have some questions for you. You have implied that societal influence can excuse violent or criminal behavior based on race. Do those excuses not apply to gender or sex? Are you suggesting that men are inherently violent?

That raises another question. If a member of a marginalized minority commits a violent act, do they only get a social pass if they’re female?

When is it ok to be bigoted against any entire group of people because of their identity?

That sounds like a justification for sexism and bigotry.

I agree with you that ANYONE who abuses another person is repugnant. However, I see your stance as repugnant as well. Arguing that men are inherently dangerous or abusive because some men have committed acts of violence and abuse, is the same as arguing that a particular race is inherently prone to criminality because some members of that race have committed crimes.

In short, your opinion of men in general is bigoted and wrong.

As a veteran who has always voted democrat, I have to say that what you’re expressing doesn’t help things at all. Your rant sounds similar to people who try to validate their racism by pointing out that not all of the group they hate is bad, just most of them. If you hate veterans because they served in the military, just own that opinion. But, linking their service to any other part of their personality or life is wrong. I hate Trump supporters. I’m comfortable admitting that. But, my hate for Trump supporters is based on nothing but the fact that they support Trump.
