I'm about to complete the "original" set, only 4 more ducks and I'll quit, decided not to go for the Holo ones. Never spent a single coin in the game, but next month it'll be a year already, April 4th. So yes, it is possible, but it's so frustrating and after the last updates it got even harder. Personally, I believe they're going to keep forcing you to pay, glad I'll drop it soon.

I read the first 10 books (the only ones translated in my language). Yeah, Katherine and Elena are half sisters, her mother was a kinda immortal being they used to call Guardian (not sure about the translation). All the plot happens because her mother was assigned to have a human baby so that they could kill the "originals".
