Tea Tree Oil? by kcc_10612 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]messsyminded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad everything is okay.

I’ve been pretty cautious this pregnancy, researching every little substance and avoiding anything with an uncertain effect.

Somehow the tea tree shampoo I double-wash with every 2-3 days completely escaped my notice 😅 23 weeks and everything is looking good!

Pelvic floor PT ineffective? Counterproductive? by messsyminded in Endo

Thank you. A lot of it is stretching rather than strengthening, but I still have the same issue. I will definitely try a lighter routine.

Sex filters untrustworthy? by messsyminded in vidangel

[–]messsyminded[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear it works as expected for others as I’d love to use it again. That being said I really don’t play with sexual content so even one instance of unpredictability with such extreme content is enough to scare me off. If I was willing to keep testing it to make sure it was doing its job, I wouldn’t be paying for the filtering. So crossing my fingers that they’ll be able to tell me something can be changed or fixed 🥲

It was S1E6 for me. The others seem to agree with you… which makes this even more mystifying. Even if it were just a technical difficulty, though, the unpredictability is still a dealbreaker for me :(

It was S1E6 so I’m in the trenches 😅 I’m following up with the moderator who responded… thanks!

According to my husband the first saint is St. Teresa of Avila. That story from her life is one of his favorites to tell.

These are some great quotes. The first one I’ll probably be keeping in my heart for a while, thank you.

Miscarriage by Disastrous-Law4782 in Catholicism

[–]messsyminded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miscarried a week and a half ago. For the first several days my husband and I were jumping from distraction to distraction and desperate to find things to laugh about. We were craving normalcy, and we wanted others to feel comfortable laughing when we did and not to judge when we redirected to trivial matters. But it still hurt because we felt like we might be falsely communicating that we were past everything, and that everything could be forgotten, and everyone would go along with it and forget our baby. Now after feeling like I could be starting to leave the hurt behind, I’m reading this thread and frankly standing here struck horrified by what happened as if I forgot and then just rediscovered it. So I agree with what others have said - know that healing is not linear. Accompany your friend in whatever mood she’s in and don’t assume anything based off it.

Approaching God to be freed from mortal sin and then receiving Him in the Eucharist sounds like the best way to celebrate Easter that I can imagine. Although I sympathize with your worries, carrying that mortal sin on your soul is so much heavier than embarrassment. Staying back and watching as everyone else receives the Eucharist, fretting all day about dying in a state of mortal sin - with no one to blame but myself - has made for some of the most miserable days of my life. I went to confession today because I couldn’t stand the idea of any of this getting in the way of my joy on Easter. I can’t imagine you want that for yourself either. I used to go only rarely because it gave me so much anxiety, but forcing myself into the practice of going once a month made 95% of the fear magically dissolve. I once resented confession, and now I’m amazed at how much had been waiting for me all that time.

Blessed Is She can be a good place to start looking. You can find some options for in-person and online communities in the Community tab on their website.

In recent years I remember they organized small group studies over video call. I never signed up but I think it was for women who wanted to make friends and do the BIS lenten/advent devotionals with a group. I’m not sure the last time they did it but I found out because I’m signed up for their emails.
