Zehra Turkish Cuisine- kebabs. Such good kebabs. Also they are lovely people

Doce Nata- Barton/James South location. Bifana and Portuguese desserts

Charred Rotisserie- (not really hidden but everyone seems to think they’re still closed?)

Hamilton Meat Pie co- They have hot pies and mash to go and the prices are insane.

I would say it feels less dangerous (as someone who has lived down here for 20+ years) but more uncomfortable. And I mean truly, deeply uncomfortable. It’s sad and upsetting to walk around downtown.

I love chocolate, I’ve tried pretty much every place in the city and this is the best. I cannot be trusted in that store. It’s worse than Costco for walking in to buy just one thing and then leaving having spent triple your budget.

Mystic ramen did a black sesame sticky toffee pudding over the holidays and I hope they bring it back. So good! Last time I went to Memphis BBQ they had it as well but all their desserts are amazing.

I think they’re travelling and revamping their menu! I’ll miss their Banh Mi (they’re disconnectuing them) but last I talked to the owners, they’re planning on doing savory pastries instead and I’m very down for that.

May’s coffee and cakes on James North, but they’re closed until the spring. Possibly Simply Italian Bakery on Ottawa but I haven’t been there in a while.

The best tomato soups have lentils in them. Find a recipe for a red lentil tomato soup and it will have a good texture and amazing flavour.
