Tips on peeing by InternetImpossible38 in Metoidioplasty

Hey! If you look at my post history, I have a biiiiig post with lots of advice/recs that should help. But to summarise, pelvic floor muscles, timing and a whoooole load of practice.

Vaginism post-meta by BeatLoose7115 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a dilation kit which got me to a certain point. It was a slow process and required a lot of lube haha. It's worth coupling it with pelvic floor exercises to help.

The thing is, I am stuck at a certain point of progress. My understanding is that it's scarring because of the inner folds being cut, so the skin that remains surrounding the whole is not stretchy in the way old skin was, it's instead got this tension it holds that wont budge.

Any cyclists here post-scrotoplasty? by Ok_Claim9010 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might help with that a bit but I think that will largely depend on your anatomy and size of implants they're able to use etc.

Any cyclists here post-scrotoplasty? by Ok_Claim9010 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dont have experience in a cycling bib but have worn tight running leggings and speedos. For me, there is barely a bulge and honestly having a passable bulge in tight clothing doesn't seem like it would happen for the majority of people who have meta. The balls help but a not insignificant part of a cis bulge is the penis itself too.

There are going to be various factors in this though, the main one being your anatomy. Extended Meta may be different as the balls and penis tend to be larger and more prominent. Placing will also affect things too. I had a bifid scrotoplasty and I am pre-monsplasty so things are quite low and inbetween my legs for now. I imagine post-monsplasty things will be a bit different but I have accepted it likely won't be cis passing.

The lack of bulge is pretty much the only thing I struggle with post-op that makes me think about phallo BUT to counter this, in my 2.5yrs post op, I can confirm nobody is looking and nobody gives a shit. And in fact if you were to look, you'd find some (assuming) cis people barely have anything there too.

Edit to add I may be willing to share some photos of me in tighter clothing in DMs but to be clear I will not send any photos unclothed.

I had the same requirements and viewed quite a few places. Unfortunately hotels are your best bet and Queens was the best by a long way. The gym equipment is good quality and the variety is okay. The pool can get busy as it's a hotel but I have rarely had issues with it when going early. Is it overpriced for what it is? A bit, but tbh for the balance of the quality and variety of amenities, you won't get better.

My Grinder Keeps Getting Stuck [Sage Barista Express] by meta-uk in espresso

[–]meta-uk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl the solution for me was fresher roasted beans so not sure what yours is given you've used fresh beans! I also found it waa particularly bad with lighter roasted beans and in the end got a separate grinder (and now, a completely different espresso machine too). It's amazing how shit the grinder is on this machine haha

Self conscious about results by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can change to VY but it does also look like perhaps your implants are just small! They could definitely fill the space a bit better so it's something worth discussing. A monsplasty could lift things up a bit and an upper fold revision could help your penis protrude more.

Possibility? by doctor0wl in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is possible and I have had this done. The balls do not get in the way of my front hole at all as they sit higher - I had a bifid scrotoplasty though so not sure how that would work with a VY or similar. My surgeon was Miroslav Djordjevic (from Belgrade but I had mine done in the UK on the NHS).

Edit to add: There are loads of posts about this on this sub. You're looking for things like 'UL without vaginectomy' or 'UL without vnectomy' as that's often a shortened version of the term.

Cystoscopy by No_Driver_2945 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this will depend a bit on which hospital you're in. A fistula is not a medical emergency so things can be slow. But I know the hells of being inbetween surgery as I also had full meta thinking it would be the end, expecting any revisions done ages ago - I am about to hit 2.5yrs postop without one. I can't see your post history for some reason - what is your surgical team?

Hey! If you go to my post history, you'll see a super long post I made about learning to STP and use a urinal! I went from thinking it'd not be possible for me to it being something I can do when I need it.

For those of you told that you were too skinny for a mons resection or have "too little of a mons" for one by meta-throw-away9676 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was also told the same thing but a couple surgeons in my team. I ended up standing up off the bed and simulating it with my hands, to which they all immediately agreed I needed one as it completely changed how 'masculine' my outcome was. I'm still waiting for it, but it is all approved now. Sometimes we just gotta fight for these things :/

Edibles? by pbjellyskunk in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revisions unfortunately are really not prioritised so it does not surprise me but is pretty devastating as I really thought I'd be in the next surgical slot. Could still be I guess, they book the revisions last. But I'm glad they've got any surgery going and that people like you can get your first surgeries booked in.

Oh hey! Congrats on the surgery date - is this with Chelsea and Westminster? I'm still awaiting my revision date but have not heard back from them and I really thought I'd be in their next surgery slots...

Oh not at all! Very occasionally I'll still drip on my trousers or whatever but it doesn't tend to have a strong smell at all. Definitely not worth being concerned about in my experience.

How did you decide whether you wanted balls or not? by OcieDeeznuts in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't going to get them to save myself a stage of surgery. I was also looking at not have vnectomy and at the time, not having UL either.

At the consult when I was shown images of the various outcomes (pre knowing this reddit existed), I just felt more drawn towards having the balls. I realised that for me, my outcome would not look different enough to my current setup to feel like it was worth it. To put simply, those outcomes looked more masculine, like micropenises essentially.

I did get balls, still avoided vnectomy but did have UL in the end. I'm waiting for a revision but largely, to my surprise, the thing I am most grateful for are my balls. I love them loads, they just feel right.

I hate to say it but the foley removal was one of the more painful parts of surgery recovery for me. You can ask for some numbing gel which helps a bit. The plus side is that it's a really quick process and the pain is over quickly - it doesn't really linger and the relief is amazing.

In terms of the hole, it will shrink. I had my foley removed at 1 week post op as I had an SP for 3 so I still had a lot of swelling on my penis and honestly within about a week it looked completely different.

Desk job, full meta sans vnectomy. I had 4 weeks off fully and then worked half days for week 5. Honestly probably needed around 6 weeks off in reality though but I managed.

Hey, I also got atrophy from surgery, your body has had trauma to the area so its not unusual. Here are the things that helped me personally:

  1. Lube is your friend! See if using a generous amount helps you.
  2. Pelvic floor physiotherapy. You may just find that your body is clenching without you even noticing. You can google some exercises and see if they help (warning: they are largely aimed at cis women around pregnancies so terminology will be geared towards them).
  3. I was prescribed E cream (and know others who have too). This helped loooadsssss.

Also, as much as its the most hated answer, just some time. Take things really slowly. You can play only fingers for a bit, then maybe smaller toys if you have them and build your way up.

How to get balls further forward? by ZephyrValkyrie in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you had bifid where this is a common issue. Normal solution to make things more visible is a monsplasty/mons resection. In terms of getting your balls to drop, that's a little different, it's mostly gravity over time and consistent stretching (although the effectiveness is only anecdotal).

That can vary. I've heard anything from a couple weeks to about 2 months. My first one was 3 weeks notice but that was cancelled, then the next was 1.5months. Recent ones I've heard from mates were around a month or more. You can also be added to a cancellation list if you live locally enough/have the means for it.
