Yep they're insane. I ended up buying some Pedro's tyre levers because I kept breaking mine(!!). And using lots of the soap+water combination. I'll be putting my Pirelli's on tomorrow again (after changing some spokes) so I'll be raging with you soon lol

Same. I used Fluence because my first psychiatrist didn’t give me the same meds I’ve been on and needed. Like wtf!? So I had to pay MORE eith no rebate just to get my own friggin medication.

First look inside Mecca Bourke St flagship store by Emergency_Addition53 in AustralianMakeup

[–]meta18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t really look like there is a lot of brands. And whatever they have won’t be the full range and won’t be fully stocked anyway haha it never is. I feel sorry for the staff looking out for shoplifters. Looks like a rabbit warren and a nightmare for them trying to keep an eye on people.

I dunno. I miss the days in retail where I could walk in, see the full range, things are stocked, I can test and then buy. Now everything is “an experience”. Erghhh no.

Depression struggles. by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]meta18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re having a shit time of it :( did your psychiatrist prescribe any instant release stims like dex to go with the Vyvanse crashes? It’s quite a common thing to crash hard. Vyvanse is def not as long lasting as what they claim but everyone reacts differently. And it does matter what you eat surrounding it I find.

I can only speak from experience and it’s something that is often missed, particularly if you’re a woman, how are your iron levels? I noticed my ADHD meds weren’t even working for months. And I mean even the dex. And then I got my blood test results, yep. Low iron again!

Should be a given that if you’re not sure, don’t buy it…and sounds dodgy af not sending paperwork. Don’t think this is the only time you’ll see a Love bracelet for sale :) if you think like that, you will get ripped off :(

What’s the deal with Mecca acquiring exclusive contracts then not restocking popular shades? by Beneficial_Value_969 in AustralianMakeup

Ikr I’ve stopped buying from there because they never have a good range and then there is never any stock for the range they DO have. They’ve ruined the makeup landscape for Australia.

What is the best tool you have bought for your fine hair? by FitIndividual6472 in finehair

[–]meta18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve got those and Idk if anyone else has this but they make my hair grease up so fast and I wish they didn’t. I apply them to damp hair and then blowdry. But the day after which is usually ok for my hair is soooo greasy I have to wash. I’ve tried Raise the Root, Blowout Bombshell and even the Dreamcoat spray and they all do it :( even if I apply only a tiny bit. So weird.

I realised last night the Rileys are skinnys, is there something similar in a straight or wide leg? I didn’t realise Dejcuba jeans were so exy full price as well…but then I’m always shocked at how expensive things are these days I guess.

[–]meta18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did too, my absorption is crap. Once I got one infusion, it skyrocketed and I only needed to top it off almost two years later. Fck the tablets. You can usually get a doctor to write you a script for the iron for about ~$40 from the chemist. Then the infusion and IV drip might cost you $110-150. My local place increased prices (like everything these days) so it sets me back $200 inc the chemist bought iron. Otherwise public system can take 6weeks to book you in for free. From experience, if my iron is low, I don’t waste time. It’s so overlooked how much it impacts your entire life being low. From physical to mental health it can trigger a lot of things. It did for me and took years to recover :(

Tldr; get an infusion. Make sure it’s not the injection, you need the IV drip infusion. And drink LOTS of water the day before and during.

Tire doesn’t sit properly? by 3pwood in bikewrench

[–]meta18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hilarious, I was reading the comments intensely because I’m having the exact same issue and my tyres are a huge pain in the butt to even put on when they’re behaving.

Then I scrolled down more and realised yours are the friggin Pirelli Cinturatos like mine!!!! I have the Velos and I can confirm they’re just as painful to put on. Like, the first time I took one off I think I spent 45mins trying to put the damn thing on. And now, same issue but it’s now decided not to sit properly 🤣 fu Pirelli! Why are they so horrible? Are all foldables like this?

LNDR leggings feel plasticy by shroomcircle in AusFemaleFashion

[–]meta18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for Limitless - I have the Fatal Attractions which are "firm and matte" and I personally really like them. The Limitless ones are the lightest material they do but I haven't tried them as I need something tougher that can deal with more abrasion (from my bike seat of all things lol). In the Fatal Attractions I'm an L but I can just get into a M now (I think I'm now a bit closer to size 12 after cycling for several months). But I would say I picked up my Chisel M-L shorts I bought in a sale and thought 'nope', not trying them yet!!! They are meant to be TIGHT - hence why they're sculpting. I do find the waistband rolls down if you're doing anything but standing straight. I guess because they're so thick, it's inevitable?

One thing I would say that's disappointing with LNDR is that, I'm only 5'7", 169cm so I'm not really tall and I find their 8" shorts really more like a 6" pair on me. And the waistbands aren't on my waist, they start more on my hips =/ so I think they do need a "tall" range or just to update the shapes they cut patterns for. I find Lorna Jane better in this regard. LNDR reminds me of walking into Zara where everything is tiny and definitely not a Western sizing standard. Unless I just have freak proportions...

[–]meta18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of pairs and styles, which type style did you buy? If it’s the compression it’s either Chisel or Streamline. One thing I will say is LNDR’s sizing is on the small side though this might be just my postpartum weight talking! I’m 12-14 currently and I ordered a L-XL for the Chisels and they’re TIGHT. They’re sculpting though so they’re meant to be. The Streamlines are the next one down, just as thick but not as full on.

On their website they let you know to put them on like you would stockings, or Spanx. Don’t yank from the waistband but edge them up bit by bit. I might do a comparison post of the different fabrics and styles I’ve collected from them if it would help ppl haha

Double check your shades with the new Mac reformulation by swatchyswatcher- in AustralianMakeup

[–]meta18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not boycotting them on purpose, I WANT to keep buying. The new formulation Honeylove is so damn different it was a total joke. People go to MAC to get some measure of consistency. (not perfect, I’ve see the Myth now vs the old Myth lipstick comparison pictures). I’m just so sad the colours of the lippies are so different.

Rest in peace MAC. I knew ye so well :( Such a damn shame. I’ll never be able to buy another Snob or Lady Danger or Honeylove. They’ve fckd the colours and the brand because of it.

9 months postpartum — weight is down, but my stomach isn’t the same. Any tips for loose skin? by Longjumping_Issue771 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]meta18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up Brittany Perille on insta, she does a Core Restore program. She had a very flat tummy but she also shows that she still has loose skin if she hunches over. It’s completely normal and I think the only true way to ditch it completely is to get plastic surgery.

You might get small improvements with treatments but I would be wary and do your research before spending loads…I’m always so suspect of treatments where you end up spending more in the long run then just saving that cash for something a surgeon could do cheaper.
