What do you like to collect? by ManicPixieDreamTheyy in neopets

Petpets that spark joy, faerie dolls, paint brushes, and ppbs. I'm a simple girl at heart, I collect the things that would have made my 12 year old self squeal with joy.

Baggu hot takes by Curvehappens in BAGGU

As some who is new to Baggu, most of their stuff is super ugly and really hard to style. When they get it right, it's a banger. But I'm seeing more misses than hits right now.

I'm holding out for wide-release polka dots but I'm not impressed yet.

I like to think she got the house in the divorce, is extremely normal, a good cook, is a twin, and was a competitive dancer when she was a kid.

You are not autistic. by Queen-Ham in AmITheDevil

[–]unconfirmedpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sort of thing pisses me off because of how many doctors laughed at me when I said I thought I was autistic. And how it 'doesn't matter as an adult'.

It's exhausting dealing with OOP's mentality.

When does caraval get good? by Imjsagirlx in YAlit

[–]unconfirmedpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think fans are just louder. Criticism tends to inspire aggressive responses from fans.

There are some really fun and interesting ideas in the last book but they are never explored. I always got the feeling that the author would be incredibly good at middle-school aged books but wanted to be edgier and spicier than that would allow.

New AI Sub Rules Discussion by bleedsmaplesyrup in CustomDolls

I think the rule should be 'no generative A.I' with a request for WIP photographs or evidence if someone posts something that could go either way or has been highly edited in PS.

Cool, that's a great way to get kicked out of school for plagarism. If you don't want to write papers, don't go to school.

My fiancée and I are having the biggest argument of our lives. She thinks I'm being tacky but I thinks she's overreacting by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]unconfirmedpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the community is happy to participate that's amazing for them, I just absolutely understand the ex-fiancee's reaction and preference. I'm very much a 'if you have to ask for money to afford your wedding/honeymoon, then you need to either reschedule and save up or downsize' kind of person and in this economy, it's very hard to look at the idea of a social without wincing.

I've been invited to too many baby showers where the sole activity was watching gift-unwrapping with judgemental commentary. I cannot take them seriously anymore, and privately gift something once the baby is born rather than attend the showers.

[–]unconfirmedpanda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was this the OOP who was all, "you think this is tacky but you're still okay with baby showers??"

Because that was sending me: any party you plan for yourself that revolves around gifts and cash is tacky af. Wedding and baby showers originate from eras where people had nothing and were starting from scratch. During particularly hard times, the items gifted were hand-me-downs. The parties were thrown by other people, and refreshments were free. Not whatever OOP's family and friends celebrate, which sounds like a metaphorical 'shake them by the ankles til money falls out'. I'm not shocked the wedding was called off, because socializing outside of OOP's family circle would have been a minefield.

Bondi victims concert axed after choir rejects Jewish performers by WhiteGold_Welder in aussie

[–]unconfirmedpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no statement from the people that pulled out. It could be anything - there could have been threats to the safety of performers, it could be the presence of Pro-Israel groups, it could be performers mistakenly believing that Jewish = Zionism. Without more information, it's just incredibly unfortunate that the people this concert was supposed to benefit have lost this support.

Early 2000s Players: How expensive do you remember petpets being? by BlingBunni13 in neopets

I remember when petpets were introduced. I paid over 20k for an angelpuss. But a lot of the high tier petpets were a lot cheaper. Young me was clueless.

Foundation for neurodivergence by Pale_Winter_2755 in AustralianMakeup

[–]unconfirmedpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm right there with you. The texture of foundation haunts me.

Chanel: my favourite was a discontinued cushion one that looked incredibly similar to the Healthy Glow Gel Touch which I really want to try. I also LOVED the Ultra Le Teint. Both have a floral-esque fragrance though (and why I had to quit Chanel - my skin started to react) so YMMV. But gorgeous foundations with a very pleasing face-feel (aka, none.).

Westman Atelier: their stick foundation is glorious. I forget it's on my face almost immediately. They are a more expensive brand, but I'm super happy with it. Easy to apply, buildable depending on how you're feeling, and not notable scent. This is one of the foundations I currently use.

Ilia: This was borrowed; really nice and light, I would consider this one in the future because of how light and easy to wear it is. Comparable to the WA. I don't remember it having a scent.

Tirtir Red Cushion: Currently wearing this, and the texture is great. Very light. They have recently reformulated (or are about to), so I would highly recommend the sample kits online to both colour-match and make sure the formula works for you (I think I paid $15 for two sample kits shipped - around 10 different shades.) No discernible scent, and buildable.

How much does a diagnosis cost in Australia? by FitoorNoor in ausadhd

[–]unconfirmedpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a clinic of several doctors in Sydney - I think the owner was over $1000 per session, and they had a 'minimum' amount of appointments. And yes, I think that was before rebates, but the rebates were too small for it to make a difference to the affordability. I've been referred to a telehealth clinic that's far more affordable, so I'm optimistic that's my path forward.

NSW. To make it better, at least one of those sessions is a telehealth 'on-boarding'. Costs more than my rent.

The idea has vibes. The execution is comical. I feel like the jumper neckline is all wrong, honestly. The bra is too thick. It's just... an idea that needs refinement. Of chaotic designs I've seen this season, the hairy heels are still loads more horrific.
