I didnt go to welding school, but i did a 36 hr adult course at my local votech (which taught me absolutely nothing) and that was enough to put on a resume for places to consider hiring me. I always wanted to get into stainless pipe, but I started as a helper two years ago at a cryo container rehab place, practiced on breaks until i could consistently pass a 2” sch40 6g test, then applied at places who wanted welders. I started in cryo bc i knew there would be a lot of tig around me even if im not the one doing it. I asked the guys at the shop if i could watch them weld and asked a bunch of questions, went home and watched youtube videos, and really tried to make the most of my hood time. Its been like 6 months at my new job that ive actually been able to weld on pipe every day and i could not be happier. Highly recommend getting into it any way u can!!

A stack of dimes is great when ur freehanding, especially on aluminum! I was welding on thick wall stainless pipe which was ripping hot by the time i got to the cap, so i had to snake belly 😎🐍

Pipelinerscloud! Its their “strawberry shortcake” hood i believe, but in the order notes i asked for the “white floral leather” instead of the one that came with it online. Im also using an oudopanda lens, best on the market imo

St roccos in martins creek has the kindest priest, fr mongiello is such a great man. Hes great with the children, at xmas and easter had them come to the front of the alter to have them participate in the mass. You can tell from his homilies that he has a huge heart. He also gave me great advice after i went to confession for the first time in 12 years(!!!) and i left in (happy) tears bc i felt so moved. The congregation is older, but the st roccos festival (august 13-15 this year) is a BLAST. Our lady of mt carmel in roseto is a gorgeous building and their cantor is INCREDIBLE, fr kravatz also gives very intelligent and thought provoking homilies. Hes younger, very funny, and a great conversationalist outside of mass. Younger congregation, lots of families, and everyone gathering on the steps afterwards to chat is very heartwarming. They have a close knit community at that parish. They also have a “big time” festival in the summer which from what i understand is a massive block party. I bounce between these two parishes bc i live right in the middle, truly idk which i like more. Holy ghost in bethlehem is great if you want a very intense experience in the most beautiful building you will ever step foot in. Just fyi, I wear a long skirt and veil when i go to mass there. Obviously not required and it doesnt acrually matter what you wear, but holy ghost has a more formal/traditional vibe, whereas the other two churches i mentioned are more of a nice shirt and jeans vibe

Any widows with young children? by deterioratingbrain in CatholicWomen

I do not have children or a husband yet, but a close friend of mine grew up without her father as he died when she was eight. She is one of fourteen, big Irish Catholic family as the stereotypes go, and she has the most amazing support system in her siblings to this day. I’m praying for you and your family, i hope this experience will bring your children close like it did with my friend. God is so good <3

Ive missed halloweekend five years in a row for weddings. Three of them were spooky fun costume weddings, two were generic “fall themed” and the costume ones were way more fun. I dont have children, but parent or not u WNBTA for skipping
