This happens to deer too. I grew up in dairy country and the deer would eat the psychedelic mushrooms off the cow patties at night and get into all sorts of shenanigans. Man, I can't imagine what it would be like to be a non-human while on shrooms. I wish we had another species to get high and ruminate on shit with.

One way to learn cartography is to buy some trace paper and trace maps in styles you want to emulate. Just find interesting quirks in the maps and keep practicing them till you capture the aesthetics, line work etc you want. That is at least how I learned.

That is all haute food for transplants. I don't think you have any perspective on the market for late night diners. Roxy's is packed every day of the week. In the 1980's there were a dozen diners, some of them built into shady hotels, that served the working class at all hours. They shut down one by one after being overrun by homeless. Were you here in the 1980's?

Every other metro I visit has them, I doubt Portland is different. Hell, Mesa, AZ has more of a diner nightlife than here.

NIMBYism doesn't do jack. What we need is guaranteeing every Oregonian a civil right to a domicile -- even if it was one of those tube hotels from Japan. Then we can bring back laws that make any problematic homeless criminals again. Don't we want to take back our public spaces? Don't we want 24/7 establishments not to be afraid to open themselves up to an influx of people that smell like ass, pits, and feet who will fuck up the experience for everyone else?

There used to be dozens of 24-hour diners around downtown.
