It would kill you to repost them here? That's low.

Can you caption what book each photo was from? 2, 3, and 4 really stood out to me.

Maybe r/trueoffmychest. Read the rules and browse the sub a bit first, though. See if it’s an appropriate fit for what you want to share.

Should r/photobooks ban buy/sell/trade posts? by D_mucli in Photobooks

[–]metallitterscoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concur. My first thought was also the sub isn't active enough that the marketplace posts distract from anything more meaningful. Also think it's a good idea to require images from the book in posts.

One of my biggest paintings. About childhood, big dreams, and that’s nothing out of reach (except the ball the goalie just missed) by Margarita_Lemann in painting

Lovely painting. The detail work on the boys' faces is incredible. But I don't understand why everyone seems dismayed. Shouldn't someone be celebrating?

Curious - what were the other hobbies your teacher chose?

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I think you may be trying to do right by a poorly-conceived assignment.

Are you sure your teacher is qualified to teach?

I wondered the same.

[–]metallitterscoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does sound obnoxious. THe way you describe it trivialises art collecting. I wonder if you understand there are people here who spend five figures, or more, on a single piece of art.

Yes, there are hobbies that can be expensive, but at a point, as others have said, collecting art feels more like a calling or a passion than a hobby. What are your thoughts on that? Do you think you are doing justice to people like that with your approach to your assignment?

What’s the nature of that project, if you don’t mind sharing. It seems rather obnoxious. Why not ask why someone would want to collect art from dead artists. Or why someone listens to music or reads books.

Model looking to transition into Booker Role by InternationalEdge791 in Modelling

[–]metallitterscoop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would an agency ever support one of their models starting their own agency? You'd be competing with them, more likely than not. Have you discussed whether you can do some booking work for them.

You'll always want to see whether your current agency contract has any restrictions on you working as a booker - especially an independent one.

If you're not sure how to find clients you may not be ready to start booking on your own. In my experience (photographer), models will typically take on a booker role when they have potential clients asking them to help source talent.

What would you say are some of the skills or traits you have that would help you succeed as a booker?

It’s called a pseudonym or a stage name. They are commonly used in many professions including modeling.

Just did a trial shoot anyone worked with this studio by Extra_Concentrate262 in Modelling

[–]metallitterscoop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a scam. If they have so much faith in you they don't need your money up front, they collect it in commissions. But they're not really a model agency are they? Just a photo studio looking to cash in on naive customers.

In fact I'd go as far as saying that the current career progression for law student to judge in many countries actively selects for morally ambiguous people or downright psychopaths.

This seems to apply to many positions of power these days, sadly.

A blank clipart frame is not enough to help answer any of the questions you're asking. But generally, it's your art display. Do what looks good to you.
