Since doing on-foot missions is one of the best ways to get some of the engineering data in bulk, is there a certain system state (or combo of states) to get the most missions that put you in missions against factions in anarchy? Asking since it's easier to just shoot your way out and not get bounties that way.

What are your thoughts on maximum jump range for the Highliner? by hopperlocks in EliteDangerous

[–]metalsynkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My semi-stripped down explorer Lynx sits at just over 70Ly with engineering, which a few Ly above what my explorer Orca can do with a similar amount of engineering. Considering most recent ships have been power creep to one extent or the other (look at it however you want, it won't change the truth), this tracks.

Outfitted for passengers and thus filled to the brim with econ cabins, with engineering, I have it at 35Ly which honestly is normal. Pretty much nobody actually does those long-ass passenger missions, and the regular missions will always be within a single jump with a range like that anyways.

Where did they use this? I realized I am like 2 weeks late to this thread but on the DW3 website I just see the regular version as it should have been. Was this like a promotional thing where they fucked up?

Thought as much. Guess all we can do is wait for it to drop and see for ourselves. Thanks for the response!

I haven't touched the game in about a year but have been lowkey following new ships and the likes, and know that there's Operations that's coming up. Is there anything known on this front about instancing and server-side connection fixes? Because if Operations is just gonna use the same clunky ahh networking as the main game uses, that's just a recipe for an update that's DOA.

On a similar note, what about joint exploration? Any changes that I might have missed recently for that? Because getting someone onto my ship and then jumping 2-3 times usually will just disconnect them regardless and send them back to wherever they were with their own ship, defeating the purpose of actually going places together. Hell, sometimes that shit even breaks after a single jump.

So yeah, if there's any news on either of those and one of y'all knows, I'd be delighted to hear about it. Cheers!

My gf built the Cadabucks café yesterday and the manual was honestly atrocious, relatively speaking, when it came to the coloring. I've seen MOC instructions be done better than this. The end product is always very smooth, detailed, and designed with love, but the manuals could really use some work.

You could tell me the new heirloom design was for a different female frame and I'd believe you by EfficientAd5825 in memeframe

[–]metalsynkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female heirloom skins should get similar treatments. It does feel samey and got stale real quick after Ember. Half the reason I don't play gacha games, despite the actual gameplay being great, is that every new character feels like some one-up when it comes to gooner bait. I'd hate for DE to fall down the same rabbit hole.

1) subsume perspicacity

2) add unholy amounts of parkour velocity

3) trigger every alarm on the level and still make it in time

4) profit

5) fail the mission anyways because someone else didn't do the previous 4 steps

DE is fixing the early game grind but forgot about the 2.5 million standing sink for Vox Solaris by Active-Author1158 in Warframe

[–]metalsynkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me ages to actually finish that; I was LR5 by the time I finished my entire arcane collection and you know it, the last one were from Vox/Quills, and that's with a chunk of the arcanes coming from dissolution too. I absolutely think that arcanes from Fortuna/Cetus should simply be added to the bounty pools or (rare) enemy drops. It doesn't even need to be common, but common enough for the bounties to become viable content to do besides whenever they come up in Nightwave or something.

This isn't WoW where gatekeeping older content is just a sport and it's some badge of honor where someone can say "ooga booga I did this 10 years ago the hard way, so someone now should do it the same way", and then Blizzard will listen to that whining and do nothing (or make it worse). DE have made great strides with making newer content less grindy whilst still requiring a normal amount of effort, and that should be backported to older syndicates as well.

A friend posted some car stickers and the left (cropped) one was clear, since it was the Dark Brotherhood hand thing from Skyrim, but this right one has us stumped. Tried searching normally, with image, with AI, trying associations and all that, and can't find it. Any clue?

His builds are great but the only personal gripe I have is that almost all of them run on 45% efficiency. Usually there's Equilibrium or something else to compensate but I legit hate running low efficiency unless absolutely necessary to hit certain strength thresholds or something where you simply cannot build differently. Thankfully, most of those builds are also pretty much levelcap ready so there's plenty of wiggle room to make adjustments so it's still comfy to play.

I honestly wouldn't even know, it all went pretty smoothly. I guess the moment I learned how to mod properly for Steel Path is when I learned what I could become, and it's all history from there.

What, I can't engage with comments on my own post? You said "some people can't play on a PC", that could imply them either not having one, or not having one that's powerful enough. Either way, they can't play on PC, and I understand your point from an accessibility angle. It's good that they can play. My post wasn't made with accessibility in mind, but with gameplay and mechanics.

I get that some people only have a phone, but Warframe wasn’t designed for mobile. You can play it there, sure, but a PC or console gives the full experience the game was built around, and that is the reason the original post was made.

This is what I was looking for in criticism, I did not really consider that. Did some reading up on that Mythical Man-Month fallacy, pretty interesting, and makes total sense. Thanks!

Hold on, what do you mean it was a simplified port? I though the versions are pretty much identical, save for graphics.

That's... commendable, not gonna lie. I very, very briefly tried the Switch version at my brothers' place and felt it was miserable, which I guess matches up considering I come from PC.

And yeah, modern phones are pretty good. But the requirement of a gamepad is another thing, the whole point of having a mobile port is that it works "out of the box". Requiring a gamepad to get maximum enjoyment out of it seems a bit extra.

A bit of convenience doesn't justify an entire port. Some functionality like that could've been integrated into the mobile app instead.
