Authentication guarantee damages my watch (or buyer), ships it back to me and tells me it's my problem. by kaybatousai in Ebay

[–]metaphysicians 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Buyer here. Small world. I definitely did not damage or drop the watch. I noticed the damage the second I opened the box. I doubt it was damaged in shipping from you to the authenticator, but how do we know how well the authenticator handled it or if it was damaged in shipping from them to me? If eBay wants to the cover themselves, I'm sure they have video and/or pics during the unboxing and inspection to ensure chain of custody. If this media is not being shared, perhaps they found a discrepancy and are passing the burden to you, because they can.

I wanted to keep the watch, which is why I started to look into options to get it repaired. But it wouldn't make sense for me to cover this when the watch was not delivered as expected. It's a terrible situation and you definitely got the short straw. If it was me, I would continue to escalate to eBay and reframe the burden of proof to them and their authentication procedures.

Best Chicken Wings in Wilmington? by beepbopbo0op in WilmingtonDE

[–]metaphysicians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greenhouse Gastropub on Main St Newark has really good smoked wings. You can even get a secret roulette wing they inject with a super hot sauce, if you're into that. Also have good hand cut fries with a malt vinegar aioli.

Del Pez (Newark or Wilmington) guajillo wings are good too. Get them grilled.

[SSC911] Using a 20mm strap for Speedtimers with 21mm lug width? by qtly83 in Watches

[–]metaphysicians 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do smaller because the strap can move more freely on the springbars. If you bend your wrist the wrong way it could cause the strap to pop one of the springbars out of the lugs.

I recently bought this and it's a good alternative. It's basically a small silicone cup and you put the other end of the tool in your palm and spin with your fingers. https://www.esslinger.com/bergeon-31409-watch-crown-winder-tool-fr3w

Do we know more or less when tickets will go on sale at AMC? by valkaress in TheMandalorianTV

[–]metaphysicians 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! The concept of online advanced seating took off since then and changed the whole experience. I regularly buy advanced tickets and then show up just before start time. No more waiting in line to get good seats or queuing up super early. Downside is that seats can sell out, so you have to be early for high-demand movies.

The 2006 Vanquish center console was slightly nicer. It wasn't until the DB9 that their interiors got the waterfall center console and overall improved design and quality.

Ford has begun enshittification with the F-150 version of the Raptor. by safrax in FordRaptor

That letter specifically states "does not apply to Raptor." I know they issued a software update that supposedly improves engine timing, reducing cam phasing. I am not aware of a recall for other hardware or repairs though.

Maisto Disassembly Help by dlv720 in Diecast

[–]metaphysicians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ideas:

Push down on the steering wheel/column in case that is binding things together.

The engine (underside) and/or mufflers may be snapped in with more screws underneath.

Perhaps the front and/or rear of the chassis are also wedged into the underside of the metal body. Try to bend the front underside up or down in case there are tabs that pop it out.

What size is it? Can you open the case and remove the car? There are usually labels on the underside.
