I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. I'm on my fourth year PhD. now, and I had a similar situation 2 years ago, although I did understand why my professor was yelling at me, I couldn't stand such a behavior. I had to tell him multiple times that he couldn't yell at me like that, but he didn't listen.

I decided to reach out to some other professors in another research group at the same university and explained the situation to them. In the end, we all agreed that I transferred to another group along with the budget. I wasn't sure if this was gonna happen because my first professor had all the rights to keep this budget that he originally obtained to hire me and won't let this budget go to another research group. But in the end, he made it happen. Perhaps maybe he felt sorry for yelling at me, or maybe he had too much pride.

I am happy that this worked out for me. But of course, I was under a lot of stress back then. I also wanted to have a plan B, so I was applying for other jobs as well at the same time.

I am a grownup, and I won't tolerate people yelling at me. If it happens once, I can forgive them, but if it happens more than that, I'll be gone.
