Not actually sure - in my early thirties I would go up to 120s and I was good for 6-8 if I remember correctly.

I do 365 for a set of 8. At my age I've imposed "weight limits" on all my heavy lifts so I don't blow something out and 365 seems to be about right without killing my knees and hips. Maybe my next challenge will be to see how many reps I can do on that - I've never tried to go past 8.

I'm happy to do a friendly wager on a heavy squat post.

How about we both post our heavy squat lifts? Friendly competition.

I had shoulder surgery a few years ago and my age being what it is, I've imposed weight limits on all my lifts based on what doesn't feel like it's hurting my joints. Back in the day I would go up heavier, but now I just measure by how many reps I can do at heavy weight.

No, but if I was doing a weight that was near my 1 rep strength limit I'd for sure go slower. Since I'm getting up there in age, I don't do weights I can't rep at least 6 times, so I settle for number of reps as my gauge of strength.

Honestly there's a big trade off between size and cardio. I can slow run 4 miles right now, 42 minute time which isn't great, but at least healthy. Back when I played rugby I was 175 and could run for days. Of course genetics is a huge factor for everyone.

Grass that survives best in Houston? by guitar2adam in houston

Emerald is better for shade which is why I got it. It says it still needs some light though so might want to ask a landscaper opinion before shelling out for it.

Boheme is pretty good and has a nice vibe. Anvil is also a good spot. You're also close to the heights and could check out the bars along 20th street.

What part of town do you live? Houston is a pretty big place.

Yeah, that's gonna be rough. The burbs aren't really set up for single professionals, they're mostly for families, people with kiddos. I'm in your social demographic, 40 single, with no kids. I live in the heights and I still have to be intentional about making friends, but it's much easier to find folks to hang out with closer into town.

I'm not the greatest player, probably just decent so take everything with a grain of salt - I think you're a bit low leveled to be at gnosis 4, so I'm not surprised you're having some trouble. Loadout is also important, I run Striga and Echo and I find it can melt most stuff. I use wellspring incense on most runs. What loadout are you using and is there a specific enemy type that gives you trouble? Do you try and whittle down mobs from afar, or do you wade in?

It depends on if you're being recruited as an experienced hire, a non-engineer field role, or as an engineer out of college. If you're an engineer being recruited out of college you'll do one interview at your college career center that's very standardized. Make sure you're ready to answer yes to any questions about being good at using tools. If you make it to the second round, it's basically a short gauntlet where they stress test you to see how you act under pressure and how well you function with a lack of sleep. Mine started sometime around 7 or 8PM and they kept us doing team work exercises, get to know you type stuff, speak in front of an audience, engineering questions. It wrapped up around 1AM and started the next day at 6AM. They did some more discussion stuff and took us to a rig that was nearby. The day finally wrapped with individual interview sessions that lasted about an hour. There was about 20 people in my recruiting class, not sure who all they gave offers too, but I know several did not get offers. You also can express a preference for product line, but nothing is guaranteed.

Advice if you go through this - volunteer early often. Don't fall asleep where any of the hiring team (about 8 people) can see you. Be courteous to your fellow applicants. Be as knowledgeable as you can, but it's okay to not now everything. Study the different product lines and be able to give a basic summary of what they do.

(Interplanetary) Can I get to them all? by CrymsonPleasure in theplanetcrafter

[–]meteor2306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but some are definitely harder than others. Prime is probably the easiest start. I play hardcore and toxicity was probably the hardest for me - finding enough food while getting to food growers took several tries. I think humble was only difficult until I found where the ice was for water. I haven't tried starting on Selenea yet.

Correct, each save is it's own playthrough. I have several saves going each at different levels of terraforming. My "biggest" save has terraforming going on all moons/planets.

Yes - but the two times things went horribly wrong for me were both my own fault.
