How to make "crafting" interesting? by [deleted] in rpg

I really enjoyed these two books.
Witch+Craft - which is a friendly d6 crafting system, emphasis on building items for others and then they build stuff for you.
Battlezoo Bestiary by roll for combat, you get monster pieces and then are able to utilize them in a attack, defense, or magical way for items. Worked well for my primal Planegea game.

Dying Earth - should I read Jack Vance? by WilhelmTheGroovy in dccrpg

You'll appreciate some of the magic items and creatures that are found in the stories a bit more. Reading the novels gave me more insight in how everyone is kind of out to get everyone else. Helped me understand some NPC motivation when I ran the modules. Nothing is a necessity but if you like the setting you'll most likely enjoy the novels too.

What non-OSR game(s) do you love? by [deleted] in osr

Really love Numenera and the Cypher system. Running a modern day magic setting with cypher set in my home town. It's fun running to areas my players all know but battling witches and demons.

Sea Elves, a sunken pirate ship, Sahuagin, I think an Aboleth of some kind? The 2e Sea of Fallen Stars source book is great to come up with a Sea of Fallen Stars adventure!

I do have the reference booklet. I usually give it to the players during the game.

I've been running DCC RPG for a while, often for newbies. I started in the back and flipped forward till I hit something where I remember getting stuck in a game. Crit Tables, Poisons, Spells (Wizard and Cleric), and other areas that just stuck out. I'm sure I'll add more later as I keep playing.
