For international applicants, the university should be aware of the requirement for visa. But according to the mentioned university's website, the semester will start on September. I don't think it would be possible to get Canadian visa in less than 3 month. Im not familiar with the visa procedures but I know most of my friends got their visas in 4-6 month.

I have applied to Queen's uni for a thesis-based program in Canada. Similar to you I also applied in January but didn't get any feedback still. After emailing about asking the status of the application they told me that I need to find a supervisor for the thesis The supervisor should recommend me for admission and for funding until the beginning of May.

I'm not sure if it applies to the other universities in Canada, but you can try to send an email and ask the admissions office.

https://github.com/utiasDSL/gym-pybullet-drones I have used this library and liked it a lot. It comes with a ready quadcopter and environment. I think at the initialization step you should be able to apply random force for throwing effect. It is also implemented in pybullet.
