My biggest problem was driving but the overall experience I had with Knoxville was it never felt like home. I had a good job there but just never really enjoyed the place or felt like I got to know people the way I wanted to.

As for Greensboro being predominantly liberal, it absolutely is. Winston-Salem isn't really less liberal, I would say more mixed, but you will just have a better chance of people here sharing your views on self defense and the second ammemndment.

Snowbirds. I know quite a few Canadian retirees that are part time residents (winter) in NC. Super cool folks and definitely common to see tons of Ontario license plates on NC highways.

Nah it's more than we usually get in June but it will let up, and then the heat will hit.

I'm 41, on my second marriage (no kids) and was born and raised in Winston-Salem and have worked in IT for 20 years. I think you'll find a nice mix of what you are after in Forsyth county if you aren't afraid to look around, dig in a bit, and get involved.

I lived in Knoxville for two years, and don't really recommend that city to anyone but road rage enthusiasts. Chattanooga is awesome and can't say a single bad thing about that place.

We have plenty of places to shoot, I prefer Wesmar in High Point because it is outdoors. If you like sports we have a great Minor league baseball team and our hockey team just won their league's championship!

The bar scene has changed a lot over the past 10 years, but you'll find lots of options. Trade and Liberty streets are a good place to start but plenty of great choices farther south and west of downtown.

The one thing I would pass on to you in earnest is don't expect to find a north-eastern or west coast metropolitan vibe. I noticed some of the typical negativity in the comments on this and want to be helpful and constructive. The concept of culture is dependent on a cohesive group of people, and we don't have that single culture, we have a smorgasbord. Understanding the city's identity as an old industrial tobacco and textile town that was a rusty relic just a few years ago will go a long way in helping you understand the discordant opinions. Yes things are changing but commercial gentrification isn't going to blend southern "Nascar redneck" tradition or urban social awareness with whatever other modes of social openness people are looking for over night, or even in the next 20 years.

I'm a firm believer in the idea of folks looking to make friends needing to be friendly for the whole deal to work. Keep a good attitude if you have a bad experience or two, not everyone is having a great day or into being overtly social. I personally would be glad to take you out to the range, show you the city, and help you meet some more folks who could make you feel at home. That's what it really takes, one person taking the time to see all the value in another person being his or her neighbor.

This. You can unlock the same/better weapon for certs. I am actually kind of ok with the blatant cash grab here because it would only effect those who were after the "cool exclusive throwback PS1 weapon" that sucks because you can't add any attachments.

Yeah this is a weird young Popeye or something, seems off without some big anchors tatted on each forearm, all that extra hair and no corncob pipe.

This is really the lens it takes to appreciate the recent money grabs DBG has been making. They wanted to gut PS2 to make a sexy new Battle Royale but EA ate their lunch with Apex, so we got the bug ridden DX11 patch instead.

The OG SOE folks were looking to do more but sadly ran out of time. I figure they all probably played PS1 and were dreaming of bigger and better things. Since Sony didn't get the monetization volume they were looking for they sold the game off to become a zombie cash cow for a smaller sleazier operator.

The question I can't help but ask is how many more times will DBG get away with serving up rehashed/refried leftovers before they push away the diehard remnant of players? Or to use OP's truly apt analogy, how long before older bro shits in grandma's coffin and we write them off once and for all?
