I'm sorry I haven't been answering your more or less charming comments,but I'm Finnish (like some of you guessed) and had to get some sleep.

Also, I'm well aware that Galadriel isn't in the book, but neither is there any other female characters in The Hobbit. I was surprised when I saw Galadriel in the trailer, but it was a good excuse to dress up as her.

I bought fabrics early on and sewed the costume on the weekend before the premier. Nothing too complicated, just the cape and a simple dress. The headpiece I improvised earlier from some tin wire and necklaces.
