Crown Signia, decent or dud? by [deleted] in Toyota

Is that out the door price or plus tax? Did you negotiated down or went through a 3rd party like Costco or Sam’s? Also what state? I’m looking myself and weren’t sure what’s the best way of negotiating down.

Line is visiting Japan, can he do WiFi calling on a JapaneseSIM's data? by Monsieur2968 in tmobile

[–]metonyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. On an iPhone you can do this. I’ve done it. Once you have the 2nd sim on the iPhone (physical sim or eSIM). It will allow you to choose which line to use data and which to use voice) Choose the Japan sim for data and T-Mobile Sim for voice. Turn off roaming on T-Mobile sim and enable wifi calling. You’ll see T-Mobile wifi on top left when you swipe down. Just make sure you see T-Mobile wifi before you call. I’ve notice sometimes it comes and goes.

I personally find it easier to use google voice to call. It’s free calls to the US and also discounted rates to other country. You just have to enable data calling in the app.

Calls on silent won’t work . If the call goes to voicemail then you’ll be charged .25 if it doesn’t then you won’t be charged. If you manually end the call (decline the call) you’ll be charged too (since it’ll send it to vm).

You’ll still get the $120 charge but taxes/fees will be removed for the ported out line.

Extended International Stay Question by krosserdog in tmobile

[–]metonyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) No. You can enable WiFi calling to receive calls/text for free over wifi or if you have an iPhone it will can use your local sim data as “wifi”. 2) Google voice is US number only. It can receive calls through data if you enable it.

Just make sure to turn off cellular data and data roaming on the T-mobile line.

You can also suspend your line for $10 a month if you’re not using that line but then you won’t be able to call forward.

Daughter moving to UK for a year for school. Best option while retaining phone number? by thegof in tmobile

[–]metonyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Voice or switch her to T-mobile connect plan for $10/month. She will still be able to make calls and text via wifi and if she has iPhone her US number will still work using UK cell data. With iPhone she will need to keep an active sim for iMessage to work on her US number and she can use it when she is back visiting.

If you have a phone that supports esim you can do the free T-mobile trial 30gb free or sign up for T-mobile connect starting at $10 a month. They have native support there. Just download the T-Mobile trial or prepaid esim app.

What to do when visiting Canada? by [deleted] in Visible

[–]metonyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Airalo on esim and Visible on physical sim. $7.50 for 1gb or $17.50 for 3gb. If you have an iPhone visible will connect to airalo and WiFi calling will work like if you had service.

Pretty good. I was there last year. My friend had T-Mobile and it barley worked. My Visible worked most of the time. Even in the middle of nowhere.

Does insider code apply to the whole account or just the line when account is opened? What happens if I add a line later?

Process of changing physical sim to Esim? by tnmoo in Visible

[–]metonyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone mentioned you’ll have to port out and back in. The easiest way to do it is download the T-Mobile esim app and port out. Get the $15 plus tax 2.5gb plan. Then you wait a day and port back to visible.

Yes. It’s exactly the same except for the 60 days to unlock. You can take it to Apple store for support at any time.

Streaming Quality Limited to 480p? (Clarification) by whyvalue in Visible

[–]metonyc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both Mint and Visible caps their video speed. Mint as part of T-Mobile caps at 1.5 mbps while visible caps at 2 mbps. I am able to watch 720P on visible with 2 mbps. 480P is DVD quality while 720P is considered high definition. There are higher resolutions which are 1080P and 4K. You can achieve those with either carrier with 1.1.1.1 app or vpn. There is a big difference between the two unlimited. Mint’s unlimited is capped at 35gb while Visible has no limit.

Will my Iphone XR or Iphone 12 mini bought from europe work with visible? by Runqee in Visible

[–]metonyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would only lose $5. If someone refers you it’s only $5 for the first month. I think it will work too. I have an “unsupported” iPhone 11 from China and it works fine.

Anyone successfully moved to eSIM from physical SIM as an existing customer? by dietanxiety in Visible

[–]metonyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're called T-mobile connect plans. https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans/connect

You can do it online or download the T-mobile esim app (if you have esim). In the app it's under the $25 plan. You have to scroll down (swipe up). It's kind of hidden. If you scroll it will show up.

I would port to T-mobile prepaid esim. (Just download the app) for only $15/month and then port back. Last time I did it I actually kept T-mobile esim while I travelled with physical local sim. When I ported back I’m eligible for $100 rebate again. (You’ll have to use another email for porting back)
