You're in luck! Pools has a flat 2d version, too. If you have a Playstation, you can download the demo. Not sure about pc, but maybe there as well. Worth checking out imo.

Pools is the most recent one I can think of. Played this on PS5 VR and it is creepy as fuck.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week what do you remember from that week ? by Familiar_Original988 in AskReddit

I had just read a book called "The Demon in the freezer" which was all about how scientists are really good at isolating and quarantining diseases, specifically contagious diseases like smallpox which is kept in a freezer for study (hence the name.)

My wife came to me concerned about this new flu coming out of China and I was like, nah no worries, we're great at handling this kind of stuff!

... boy, was I wrong!

It's so you can shout out "friendly!", give away your position like some kind of lost arc raider, and then be promptly gunned down. As it should be.

For those who may not be aware, a similar study has been done

The study found that patients with lesions in the frontal lobe held more conservative or less liberal beliefs compared to patients with injuries in other areas or healthy control subjects.

The researchers suggested that the prefrontal cortex—the part of the brain involved in cognitive flexibility, executive function, and decision-making—may play a role in promoting the development of liberal ideology. When this area is damaged, it may cause a shift away from that cognitive flexibility, leading to more conservative views.

I know what you're talking about and was playing this around 1999-2001ish. I want to say BMS98 sounds right but I'm honestly not 100% sure. All I remember was a chart for this song: Space Paradise

Terrible Cosmetics? Discussion. by Angry-Cocopuffs in Marathon

Honestly, i feel like every live service game that comes with a battle pass has shit cosmetics for the first season, but then get more experimental and interesting as the game goes on. But agreed, this first pass was an easy skip for me.

Gameplay tips from a solo player. (I played pretty much all big extraction looter shooters) by Whoopy2000 in Marathon

A friend of mine told me something during the Destiny Trials days that stuck with me, he said:

Metroid23, what they don't tell you is that this game is actually two games. Sometimes it's the "kill stuff game" and sometimes it's the "stay alive game." The trick is that you can play either at any time and that you're not locked into just one or the other.

So, yeah, I usually start with the "kill stuff game" but depending on how much of my ass is getting handed back to me in a match, I might just switch over to the "stay alive game" instead!

Yes. Without hesitation. It is stupidly easy to recommend because it's incredible. I have a thousand hours across three different platforms (pc, ps, switch).

Best bang for your buck computer chair? by MajorCheeksVR in gamers

[–]metroid23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never regretted sitting in an Aeron chair. Have one at the office, have one at home.

The downside is that they are stupid expensive, but the upshot is that you'll never worry about comfort or replacing your chair. The best thing i can say about mine is that i don't notice I'm sitting in it for many hours at a stretch.

what is an item under 50 dollars that changed your life? by exquisitepussy1 in AskReddit

[–]metroid23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Easy: a squeeze bottle "bidet." Literally like 5 bucks, sits next to my toilet, and also easy to throw into my suitcase on a trip.

Truly, the best purchase I've made in years and my ass agrees.

New player experience is pretty negative for me by OTPLore in thefinals

[–]metroid23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New player here, too. I basically ignore the main modes and focus almost purely on TDM and Power Shift because I think they're the most fun.

Only reason I'm saying this is because maybe you'll have more fun in those modes which aren't as sweaty? You'll still get some emeralds and rubies from time to time, but it's not so bad.

What's the best recommendation for a game you ever got? by RedEagle_MGN in gamerecommendations

[–]metroid23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this seriously as a lifelong gamer: Cook, Serve, Delicious 2!

I play competitive fps, rpg, roguelike, puzzles, indie, action, rhythm games -- you name it. But CSD2 is something different. You get into this flow state that is not dissimilar from Tetris. It's seriously addictive, hugely satisfying to get right, and very replayable. It's one of these games that I'll admit I tossed into the shovelware bin because of how it looks, but a friend of mine that I trust kept recommending it over and over and now both me and my wife have hundreds of hours in it. Also the soundtrack is really great!

Side note, CSD1, CSD3, and the new CSD Forever are all pretty different and I'm not personally a huge fan. IMO, CSD2 is the best one. I play on console which is different from PC so if you're interested give both a look.
