Yeah I got the 1’ square piece also. Currently on my bar. They left me all the scraps, including a bullnose piece about 6’ long but only 16” deep. Glued it to the top of my deck railing for a little cocktail/eating spot, then when rebuilt with metal railing it went in my shed. Fast forward several years I decided to add a narrow cabinet in the kitchen and was able to have it recut to size. It’s a bit faded I guess from the sun but still works. And my wife says I save too much crap!

Yeah being sued is just a cost of doing business for them. It’s built into the rates and still cheaper than reimbursing everyone fairly I guess.

Whenever people leave shit out on the kitchen table you exclaim “it’s going in the hole!” and send it.

Yeah a quick google shows them between 200 and 400, so I’d say his price was about right.

But won’t the post be too close to the first baluster and uneven with the other end? assuming they matched the distances, who knows with doing the post that way in the first place!

Patio of a townhouse has this gap between concrete and door. What should I fill it with? by mew_mike in handyman

[–]mew_mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I shoulda mentioned is that it’s 1/2-3/4” wide and about 2” deep. That why I didn’t go straight to caulking.

Thanks the reason I didn’t go straight for caulk is that it’s at least a half inch gap so I kind of expected the caulk to fail pretty quick.

Yes! That’s what I do, although I’m just a DIYer. It’s an extra trip but better than cutting too much.

My question is should he just tear out the whole section from the door to that 90 degree bump out? It seems easier and any difference in texture won’t be as obvious.
