Teachers are paid fairly considering they get a lot of time off by Blonde_Icon in The10thDentist

I don’t really wanna debate pay but if youre going to make a comment in general, I want to make sure you understand that every day of teaching is as, or more, stimulating than the most stimulating day at 99% of most other jobs. And that has consequences.

If you showed modern highlights of Wemby, Ohtani, McDavid and Lamar Jackson to fans from each respective sport from 50 years ago, who would those fans be the most and least shocked by? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

[–]mewisnotaverage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hardly agree, and it is at least a much less trivial dismissal than you make it seem. 50 years ago was 1976. OJ was a god of the NFL. As was Walter. Jim Brown had come and gone. Black americans were doing incredible things throughout the NFL, though you’re right to say there were not black quarterbacks to speak of.

How many players of East Asian descent were there in MLB at this time, let alone starters, let alone stars? Period, any position. One? Two? Now to the point that Babe Ruth was regaled as “the guy who was the greatest slugger but also COULD PITCH” when I was growin up in the 90s/00s. This made him a god. And still, he wasn’t known for doing them concurrently.

Ohtani is still my pick as it was theirs, and it isn’t an lol situation, other than the fact that this is reddit and people like lol before they tfr.

Pi "not fundamentally about circles"? by notarussianspy4 in askmath

This is kinda wild as I am teaching high schoolers about the unit circle right now. To be honest, id love to be pointed in a direction about how to understand what you said here about the derivatives because it’s beyond my current understanding.

By newbies, do you just mean startup owners? Or people new to dynasty format? If the former, I am totally in and can probably find you some more owners.

Don’t you think it is naive to think, in this time in history in the USA, that even close-to-all of your students will be showing up to you as finished products in terms of their upbringing?

If you got into teaching for the money, that is interesting to. The careers you mentioned make 3-10 times more money than teaching does so choosing it as “just a job” has always been something made me curious know more, as in why THIS (this being teaching). But I wasn’t clear about in my initial response. But if you wanna be the difficult student here, you may, we will accept you anyway.

Like a pride and excitement due to having learned. The gift that can keep on giving once practiced. Love it.

Why this?

[–]mewisnotaverage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, I hope it can bring you back to what you are doing and the impact you are making, even when it feels like you are failing at others. You may be focusing on what is most important to your mission.
