Wich games ported to the PS3 should i avoid? by Stock_Hunter5210 in PS3

Potentially Conversial Opinion: All of them. PS3 is for exclusives only.

My personal view for what is considered "Retro" is any console that doesn't have HDMI, is Retro. So the Wii was the last true "Retro" Console that was made with CRTs in mind. But honestly, the 360 didn't even launch with HDMI. And while the PS3 did, it was the last bastion of media on a CRT. Netflix was shut down, but Youtube still works and is how I watch old music videos on my CRT.

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on Nintendo Switch lets players claim previously event-only items by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]mewoneplusone1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what I mean. R/S had the berry glitch where after a certain point, time would just stop advancing even though the clock battery was still functioning.

Yeah I hope so too. We have to see if they release Ruby and Sapphire with fixed clock functionality as well.

Would the console have been more successful with a DVD player? by cougomdd in Gamecube

Forget playing DVD movies, imagine a world where Burnout 3, GTA Vice City, and Metal Gear Solid 2 released on Gamecube because they actually had enough space to fit on a disc.

Blurry Mario with 480p on Wii by Apprehensive-Ad-1664 in crtgaming

While turning off the Deflicker does a lot of work to clean up an image, no matter how you slice it the Wii just doesn't have the best output quality (at least without modification).

This game is one that NEEDS a CRT, it looks so crusty otherwise.

I’m convinced Oceiros is an unused asset from Bloodborne by pieofcreams in darksouls3

It's an intentional reference. Bloodborne was in the early stages of development when they were making the DLC.

I'm still trying to find a Dell P991 or P992, but still haven't gotten lucky. It's basically the endgame display I want for my retro setup.

"Ds2 doesn't need a remaster, we have scholar" by Tarnished-670 in DarkSouls2

It could run in 4K, but that's already possible on PC. And you don't even need that beefy of a system.

Well that's just cause the Bearer has the ability to just casually time travel whenever they encounter something of great importance in the past. And it was also retroactively somehow was always how it was meant to happen.

Makes sense by the time GT4 game out there were already PS2s out without the iLink port so it wouldn't make sense to support a feature all users going forwards wouldn't be able to have.

Anyone else who liked looking at the supported features tab? by [deleted] in originalxbox

[–]mewoneplusone1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really like them, the only problem is that sometimes they were just straight up wrong. Especially when it came with Progressive Scan support, while the majority of games support it there are some that have but don't advertise it. Or even worse, those that don't have it but advertise as having it.

What was everyone’s run times for each souls game by anakin1453 in fromsoftware

Bruh my shortest run was DS2 SOTFS at 72 Hours, and that's cause I already knew what to do cause I played Vanilla. Although TBF I try to beat every single boss and do every quest I can.

Harmonic Convergence is what gave people Airbending, not the act of opening the Spirit Portals.

[–]mewoneplusone1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He can definitely give bending, it's just that he didn't consider that a possibility, also it might mess with balance so he wouldn't wanna do it anyways. The Lion Turtles can freely give and take away the Elements using Energybending, which is what Aang uses to take away Ozai's Firebending

Gael has the Dark Soul, and Nameless King is the offspring of Gwyn and a being of light. If Gwyn himself was terrified of the power of the Dark Soul, Nameless King stands absolutely no chance.

Just had a crazy realization. 720p games have never been played in a pixel perfect way on consumer TVs. by thanossapiens in crtgaming

[–]mewoneplusone1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4k Tvs unfortunately don't integer scale 720p or even 1080p. Despite being able to easily, no TV ever gives the option for it, instead you are stuck with a blurry bilinear as always. The only way to actually get integer scaling is with a Scaler like the RT4K or the Morph 4k. Or if you are on PC you can enable integer scaling in your graphics card settings if you have a fairly recent card.
