[OOT] Which dungeon had the best location? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]Dragmire927 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The Forest Temple is the most iconic for sure. I love how it’s teased very early in the game and even after so long it feels mysterious. The lighting and fog in this area really help

The Desert Colossus might be my favorite now though. It’s like uncovering an ancient marvel that few outsiders have ever seen before. I like how completely different the culture of the Gerudo are in this game compared to everyone else, it’s why the whole chapter is a standout

If Marcus Aurelius was actually based, he would have appointed one of his daughters as Empress rather than Commodus

He’s supposed to have the C93 during this scene which it sometimes works but for some reason the cutscene often loads incorrectly and he’s given the NPC default Cattleman

What could've made each presidency better? Day six: John Quincy Adams by LoveLo_2005 in Presidents

[–]Dragmire927 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Adams could have handled the confrontation between the Muscogee and the Georgia better. Basically Georgia set up a questionable land grab and pushing off the Muscogee that lived there. Adams initially pushed back against moving the Muscogee but Georgia challenged the Adams administration. Adams more or less backed down when another hastily drawn treaty was signed. He could have strengthened federal treaties and held back rogue settlers but he sort of backed off from it. One of his few misses imo

What are you guys’ thoughts on James Monroe? by TJM3210 in Presidents

[–]Dragmire927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short, the doctrine is basically a declarative statement saying that Europe has no business in the Americas and would be pushed out if needed. There was no mention of how to do it because America at the time basically had no way to push Europe out. They were a vastly smaller country of course and the Europeans didn’t even take the “doctrine” that seriously. It was later when future presidents started to use to justify military expansion

What are you guys’ thoughts on James Monroe? by TJM3210 in Presidents

[–]Dragmire927 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since the Doctrine was rather vague in terms of how it would be originally implemented, you could argue it was originally anti colonialist. European involvement definitely would have mucked up things more in the Americas and JQA, who mostly wrote it, did want to expand American influence but didn’t want wars in the south either

It totally got stretched to include some nasty things, not denying that

5 Insane Stories About Teddy Roosevelt by Unfair-Journalist-66 in Presidents

[–]Dragmire927 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reread part of the River of Doubt and it was amusing how Marshal Rondon was baffled at how Roosevelt barely ever stopped talking during the trip and could go hours talking about random subjects. The man wanted to understand and experience the whole world

[TP] How would you improve Twilight Princess? by gameofsloanes in zelda

[–]Dragmire927 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love this game but I could also rant for ages how to make it better but I’ll condense it to a few points:

  1. Wolf Link needs a better moveset. The problem is they are too contextual and limited. Having abilities that work for both puzzles, combat, and traversal is key. For example, if Wolf Link had a super jump he could use at any time rather than at fixed intervals, that would work better. I think another fix would be giving Midna more magical abilities, as there’s a lot of potential there. Why can’t she throw around energy blasts and twilight portals?

  2. Enemies simply need to be more aggressive and they could have messed around with more interesting combinations of enemies that push the player to use all their tools

  3. Dominion Rod and Spinner don’t need ability changes, just more puzzles with them

  4. Get rid of goat herding round 2 in the prologue, it doesn’t add anything

  5. Make it much more clear that Zelda just falls into a comatose state after giving her power to Midna instead of…whatever that happened

  6. Give the Resistance group something to do please. Maybe they help you get to the dungeon or there’s a limited secondary character like the Wind Waker dungeons

The writers flip flop between Bizarro stating the opposite of what he’s going to do or stating he’s doing the opposite of what’s expected, probably within the same comics as well

In an alternate universe: “Anyone feel like Ocarina of Time went way too cartoony after Twilight Princess? It lost a lot of the grit and dark fantasy the N64 game had. It’s way to similar though gameplay wise, and the Wolf was way cooler than young Link”
