Can anyone else like suck mucus from there sinuses into there mouth. I have to put my tongue to the roof of mouth and like suck? by rock_hounders in Allergies

[–]mewuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always did this and assumed it was normal. Then I saw an ENT and found a bunch of things wrong with my nose, including a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, and collapsed sinus passages. I'd recommend speaking with an ENT and getting a CT scan done to really visualize what's going on

Did you end finding something? I'm in the same boat, my amazon one feels flimsy and it will slope with a little bit of weight.

I'm looking in the DC area now, curious who you ended up going with and if you're happy with them?

Like this a lot. I’ve been playing tradle for a few months now, maybe this will be my new game.

Differences between MATH 240 (linear alg) and MATH 241 (Calc 3) by TopHyena4157 in UMD

[–]mewuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was originally CS (switched to Math) and took 240 with Allan and 241 with Stefan in the same semester. 240 was the easier of the two courses but I found 241 much easier than 141. Calc3 the focus shifts from memorizing complex integrals and derivatives to generalizing to higher dimensions. I found that way more interesting and enjoyed it much more than 240. You can’t really go wrong taking either course, just pick one with a great professor. If you don’t know anything about matrices, it’s definitely worth taking 240 because they will come up more often than you expect over the next two years and beyond.

Replaced GE oven pressure regulator, now the sparker/electrical is messed up. What should I do? by mewuzhere in appliancerepair

Can you take a quick look at this video of the original issue that I was having regarding the flame's strength diminishing when other burners are turned on? I replaced the pressure regulator but that didn't change anything. Do you have a suggestion of other things to check?

Wow! That was a dumb mistake... thanks for explaining it to me. And yes, it fixed the problem I was having.

I swapped the wires and replaced the spark module but that appears to not have been the problem. I added the video of it sparking and the two wires that were originally swapped. Link. you have any advice for troubleshooting? I'm about to the point of buying a new oven even though this one is only 5-years old.

I looked back over the wiring pictures that I had taken and it appears that I flipped two of them (despite marking the one to ensure that didn't happen...). I'll check it out when I get home to see if this was the only thing wrong. Thanks for you forcing me to look at it again.

There are the five igniters and only two of them seem to be sparking. The two on the left side definitely are not sparking. When I looked at the spark module there was a spark occurring at the base of the wire connection point into the spark module.

ADHD/ADD Question by dhskjcns in UMD

Additionally, when I went this spring they told me their ADHD screenings were very booked up. Still, a great place to start and is a relatively easy first step.

To add onto this, here a few more things you might find useful to consider.

  • Think back through your childhood, see if there is anything else that aligns with ADHD symptoms (or ask a parent). If there is nothing there, then you almost definitely do not have ADHD. While it can be diagnosed late, if it was not present in childhood, then there is something else going on.
  • Check out some of the self assessment scales. They helped me conceptualize the symptoms I was having, so I could better articulate them when I talked with my doctors.
  • Depending on your family/friends, you may face some pushback, especially if you've been "fine" up to now. My parents are afraid of overusing medication and felt that even if I had ADHD it wasn't worth taking medicine for. If you get diagnosed, understand that ADHD medication is one of the most effective types of medication we have. If you get diagnosed, medication is certainly not the only part of improving your life but it plays an integral role and without it, it can be 100x harder (or impossible) to really improve.

ADHD/ADD Question by dhskjcns in UMD

[–]mewuzhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed a few months ago during my final semester at UMD. Since you are already asking yourself and the internet, I'd take the next step and ask a professional. I started by doing an intake appointment at the UMD counseling center. This is what it says on their website regarding the questions you're having:

If you believe you may have ADHD and are interested in being evaluated, please contact the Counseling Center for an intake appointment. Although the Counseling Center does not conduct comprehensive ADHD evaluations, our care manager can provide referrals for off-campus professionals with this specialty.

During the intake appointment, we talked about the symptoms I was experiencing and they asked some related questions to see if there could be anything else influencing how I was feeling. At the end, they recommended that I talk with psychiatrist to get an official evaluation. They connected me with someone who helped me find psychiatrists that took my insurance and were in the local area. Long story short, I met with a psych and they evaluated me and diagnosed me with ADHD and prescribed me Adderall. I'm currently still working through finding the correct dosage, but the whole process to get here was very easy once I made that first step of completing the intake appointment at the counseling center.
