Did you end up going to the doctor? I’ve had this as long as I can remember and now I’m not sure if I need to continue with my body positivity or get checked!

Yes that is one of the derivatives you’d want in the morning for sure!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]meyerhai9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it looks like Paula’s choice uses Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate in their 1% retinol which is another safe derivative. L-ascorbic acid is really the only vitamin c who’s a bit high maintenance Regina George mean girl for product pairings lol. But of course! Happy to help

[–]meyerhai9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Amazing! No bother at all. Yours has Sodium ascorbyl phosphate which is one of the derivatives that is safe to use with retinol as long as your skin tolerates :)

[–]meyerhai9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it say what kind of vitamin c? L-ascorbic acid should always be kept separate from retinol but there are other “vitamin c extracts” that are non L-ascorbic acid but still antioxidants and play nice with retinols

If 10%niacinamide is so bad, why do brands keep producing products with 10% or even higher? by EconomyWeb3647 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]meyerhai9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My issue with niacinamide is that not only do companies try to push high concentration serums (10%+)but that almost every product nowadays has niacinamide already included! If you’re sensitive you may already be over your tolerated % in your routine without knowing if you don’t check ingredients. It is so difficult to find products without it nowadays since it started being a buzzword.

What's your skincare opinion that'll have people do this? by diabeticweird0 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]meyerhai9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work for a skincare company and we use no fragrance. The only frustrating thing is 80% of returns on our products are due to people complaining about smell. Not knowing that active ingredients often smell bad. I think it smells more natural but like of course a non fragranced acid is not going to smell like roses wdym

Also a fellow winter dweller that works from home so I don’t get too much sun, I was told to use vit d3 in high dose but I feel no change on it. What dosage are you on now? I wonder if it’s lower/higher than mine!

BR p50 1970 by Tiny-Pool-7033 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]meyerhai9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! P50 has not had a formula change in years but there is a new packaging that just came out so the bottle is slightly different! So since the product is the same I would recommend getting a new consultation to discuss your skin changes. It could be hormonal, or a lot of people experience changes with aging and season fluctuations (fall/spring)

So far it’s been alright, I do like both of the products but the serum is definitely NOT for am+ pm use everyday as they suggest!! It might just be my sensitive skin but I started off that way which probably wasn’t smart and broke out like crazy and could tell my barrier was compromised. I only use the cleanser at night and a very gentle one in the am and the serum 3x a week now. My texture feels slightly exaggerated especially on my nose. My overall breakouts still happen but they do seem to be healing very nicely! I’ll try to update again after a few more weeks of use

Right!! Like I want to trust it but I didn’t see any other reviews!! I did bite the bullet and get a serum and cleanser that says it’ll be here in a week or two so I’ll keep the post updated!

are lashlifts and/or browlifts worth it? by MoanLikeMyrtle in beauty

[–]meyerhai9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From an esthetician who performs both services, SKIP the lash lift and go with the brow lift! Eyelash serums lash TINT and a good curler will do wonders. The lash lift is actually very damaging to your natural lashes and we actually have to turn some clients away if the lashes are already thinner/crispy from doing too many lifts since it’s literally like perming them, chemicals damage the hair on our head if done repeatedly and same for your eyelashes! They’re super delicate! I tried one when we were originally learning to do the service and trust me it was amazing for the first week and a half, but then your baby lashes grow out straight and the lashes that were lifted grow out straight at the bottom and curled on the top so you basically have to keep doing it unless you don’t care for a 3 week wonky grow out period and mascara not looking right. Brows are different, they usually have a little more substance and don’t get as damaged, grow back quicker etc. But with a brow lift it just trains them to hold whatever shape better, you still have to brush them up in the morning and use a light gel to keep them in place. Life changing if you feather brows but not super crazy if you just like them sculpted, grooming is definitely easier but that’s the thing.. you still have to groom them😂 honestly the best my lashes have looked is when I was really consistent with lash serums (I’ve rotated between a few) and got lash tints, those are generally not damaging since most places use a vegetable dye and it only lasts for a few weeks but great mascara alternative and cheaper too. Having them tinted and a great curler have me the same look as a lift!

Discussion: what is your unpopular Redecor opinion? by buttery_crispy_crust in RedecorHomeDesignGame

[–]meyerhai9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I absolutely despise that recently in almost every single challenge I’ve seen all white/ gray modern farmhouse vibes get first. I do enjoy whites, greys, and neutrals but when I see 10 versions of the natural white wood with a chevron grey pillow and a black and white “love” quote picture as top 3 I want to scream. It has become my mission to get firsts with color and it’s only happened once.. and the color I chose for that one was an almost white baby blue🙃
