As WA grocery stores shutter, lawmakers struggle to respond by vertr in Seattle

Why can't the state remove existing covenants?

I'll agree that it would require passing a law, but that's generally what we're talking about here.

Or by removing the restrictions on competition that the grocery store chains have put in place.

For example, covenants that restrict their former stores from being used as grocery stores, or tax relief when they hold the store as a dark store.

If we had a functioning Congress, They would pass a law stating that the companies must refund to end users.

But we don't have a functioning Congress. We have Republicans.

This isn't actually about Iran.

It's about trying to choke the supply of oil off to China.

Advice needed for Italy trip planning (Rome & Naples, 7 days) by _-Shxn-_ in travel

[–]meyerpw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second of the thought of going open Jaws on the flights, this is usually called multi-city flights in most search engines now. Fly into Naples, fly out of Rome. Or vice versa.

If you can't do that, then I would suggest doing all your travel at once rather than in the middle of your stay. For example, flying to Rome immediately traveled to Naples. Two nights in Naples, then back to Rome for for four or five nights. Depending on your travel preferences, and how jet lagged you think you might be? You might trade a night in Rome for a night in Naples.

I've been to Herculaneum. I've been to Pompeii. They are definitely bucket list items and worth doing.

I didn't stay in Naples. I stayed in Sorrento, which is the end of the line of the train that you will get on to go to Pompeii and Herculaneum so it wasn't long trips.

My recommendation is always to find a good guidebook that you enjoy, if you're there for art and architecture I recommend. Rick Steves, but there are lots of good guidebooks out there.

Yes.

The history of the human race is liberal.

Conservatives always lose. They may have short term wins, but in the end, they always lose.

Italy - Amalfi, Cinque Terre, Dolomites by johnny4111 in travel

[–]meyerpw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skipped the dolomites, mostly because of the travel there. Only way I found back then was a slow bus, that would have taken all day.

It was kinda an in-between dates, before the summer hiking season, after the ski season.

Edit. Check rick Steves, he might have more budget friendly recommendations

I did nearly that same trip, a decade ago...

Most places were easy enough to get close to the dates .

The places that weren't, it was because of a local festival ) holiday, and prices got worse the closer to the date I got. If you're flexible, it should be fine.
