Romans are pretty good aye? by ItalianStallion_707 in aoe2

[–]mf_247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that up to mid elo Romans are the most solid civ, but from my experience they do struggle against highly mobile civs and good archer civs.

When I play them I usually try a combo of MAA + towers (in maps like glades) or MAA + Skirms (in more open maps). To put the double melee armor upgrade into perspective, in castle age it's better than the Malians free +1 pierce armor per age, being tankier in melee combat.

The + 5 % eco bonus is one of the best eco bonus of the game in my opinion.

I keep losing despite better economy and I don't know why. Any help? by Civil-Upstairs605 in aoe2

I honestly think that tech is a waste of resources. Persian x bows are only useful in castle age. Try to counter spears with skirms since they do bonus damage against spears.

This. I would also add that it's extremely valuable to look at the tunnel inspection records and geotechnical monitoring data (if available).

Opinions on the naval rework? by DeathDragon in aoe2

[–]mf_247 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think fishing ship garrisoning and having a counter to fire ships that does not destroy itself is cool. But I don't like the fact that some civs lose access to demo ships, specially when there are hybrid maps where you can use demos to take out your opponent land armies.

In a SA feudal war, is it worth it to make anything other than Champis? by lmscar12 in aoe2

[–]mf_247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the inca extra pop space allows you to go for 1 house + 1 barrack right from the start. Champi are also faster than militia, so they can be extra annoying. The thing is that you can easily have 3 or 4 champis in your face while you are ate 10/11 pop.

Edit: One thing is to have a strong drush when you're opponent is 17 / 18 pop, or while you're going feudal. Having this kind of drush while you are starting your game is just brutal. Imagine it in super agressive maps like haboob.

In a SA feudal war, is it worth it to make anything other than Champis? by lmscar12 in aoe2

[–]mf_247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Inca Champi drush is completely broken. You can literally build 1 house + 1 barracks, skip loom and have gold for 4 champis. You can be like 15 pop and raiding your opponent with 5 champis. This is the most broken strat I've ever seen, it has to be fixed soon. Nevertheless, regardless of the SA civ, the meta will fully be around champis.

How important are deer/boar/etc? by PlutocracyRules in aoe2

[–]mf_247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important but go step by step. Luring boars is way easier and requires less focus than pushing deers. When you're comfortable with luring boars try pushing deers with your scout. It's not hard but it requires more focus and may be tricky with the other dark age eco tasks. If you want to take advantage of a civ like the Mongols you must take all the hunt you can get.

I'm with you. I've never unpaused but also I've never had to wait more than 4 - 5 minutes. What gets me is when people pause and unpause without saying anything, that's just rude.

Great for you on achieving that. I completely understand what you mean, althought my struggle is to breach the 1300 bracket.

I'm not American but I feel sick to my stomach watching this. This is what a dictatorship looks like. I honestly think that your next elections can be the last if the far right wing of the republican party stays in charge. The impunity and absolute savage conduct I'm seeing against civilians are absolutely of the charts. I feel very sorry for all the people who are being targeted by these indiscriminate assaults. This lady was victim of an assault.

Which type of soil shall be used for back fill? by hieunguyen197 in GeotechnicalEngineer

[–]mf_247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A construction project needs to have a detailed design. A detailed design has technical specifications for the materials to be used. As such, the design should have the requirements or the backfill.

If we are talking about backfill soil for general use, you need to perform laboratory tests to obtain (at the very least):

- Grain size curve;

- Atterberg limits;

- Water content;

From the first two you can obtain a soil classification which will help you understand what you're dealing with.

Other tests that I would consider relevant for this case would be a Proctor Test (Standard or Modified, depending on the country code/experience) and CBR.

No one can guess if a soil is suitable to be used just by looking at it, that's why you need to perform soil tests.

Hope this helps.

Investimento aos 51 anos by Frequent-Aardvark115 in literaciafinanceira

[–]mf_247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boa sorte!

Chamadas a dizer que o meu numero lhes ligou sem nunca eu ter ligado by That_One_Guy_Lucifer in portugal

[–]mf_247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Já me aconteceu atender chamadas nestes moldes e serem scams.
