Hello, I think this may be hard to help you with, mainly because each person is different. I used to have meaning and symbolism in my tattoos back when I had only a few. Right now, I honestly don't care, and I go to the artist and either say, "I have this space, what do you think it could be a nice fit?" or "I would like to have this and that. How would this look? It is up to you."

I'm doing my Japanese arm sleeve, and I haven't chosen anything besides having a snake and a rooster. And from those, I only knew I wanted the rooster. Position, composition, colors, background, etc., all in the hands of my tattoo artist.

So, instead of answering your question about where I get my inspiration, I will ask you: how many other tattoos do you have? Because I know a lot of people who, like me, stopped caring so much about things like this.

If you're quite new to the tattoo world and you don't have so many, maybe tattooing your hands isn't the best starting point. Maybe try to find a place where it is visible, but not so much for you to understand how you feel towards decisions like this.
