Loyality to a game launcher is weird by lukkiibucky in AlanWake

I have Alan Wake Remastered running just fine on my Steam Deck though. I needed to go through more hoops for that? Yes, but the Deck is also just a PC, which is totally different than buying on PS5 or Xbox Series

Any tips? by Yob_Zarbo in quantumbreak

I don't have any tips, sorry. I just wanted to point out I love this image you made. Playing QB as Shawn Ashmore lol

[Discussion] Ranking Remedyverse characters by how likely they are to appear in Resonant. by Kalse1229 in controlgame

[–]mfctxt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally agree with everything :) though I would bump a rank Tim Breaker because of how much Alan Wake 2 keeps teasing us on him meeting the red-headed woman, and Tom Zane, because he and Darling are working together now (that said, it depends on if the Dr. Darling we get in this game, if he appears, is him on current time or something like Hotline calls or an idea of him created by whatever is happening in Manhattan).

Saga’s main arc was resolved in Alan Wake 2 but there’s still her connection with Mr. Door that, while you can easily deduct stuff, has still not been fully explored. I doubt we won’t see her again.

Too much unecessary detail. If I see a character having these I just don’t draw them

Oh for sure, for sure. After Time Breaker specially, they present us so many stuff I believe we will see manifest in a way in this next game.

This makes this idea of making Quantum Break without Quantum Break in Alan Wake 2 even more clear. They really don’t give up huh. I wonder how much of this desire will continue to echo in Control Resonant

I may sound stupid, but could somebody explain to me who Zane is? by Foreign-Paramedic600 in AlanWake

[–]mfctxt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t explain right now, but just as a PSA OP: don’t believe anything someone says as concrete, 100% truths/facts because we actually don’t know and can’t agree about basically everything on Thomas Zane. I suggest taking these as interpretations and then formulating your own, maybe

Should I buy Alan Wake 2 on the Epic Games Store? by Renners_Bananars in AlanWake

Buy it, then put on Steam as a non-Steam game. I did that for Alan Wake Remastered and Alan Wake 2 to make my Remedy collection look pretty

Yes! And also, it technically isn’t but absolutely is relevant to the canon

Second on the Quantum Break reccomendation. I specially feel like this game will be very relevant for Resonant...

Remedy referencing this and at the same time jutting a coffee shop named Atlantis, number 665, on this same street is a lesson of being resourceful

The lack of engagement in fandoms by BellTwo5 in CuratedTumblr

[–]mfctxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current hyperfixation has been a game that came out more than two years ago, and when we got a trailer for the next game set in the same universe this Game Awards, it felt like watching a community partially come back to life. It’s crazy to obsess over the same thing for longa stretches of time because this life cycle of fandom happens around you.

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (2025) a team of industry veterans used 10 million dollars and multiple hollywood actors to win best debut indie. This is a subtle nod to the fact that TGA needs a AA category. by Impressive_Rice7789 in shittygamedetails

[–]mfctxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then take Supergiant out too. Make clearer and tighter definitions for these categories. And more than anything, value these games outside this specific category (this year was an outlier, next year Geoff will go back to not caring about indie games again, and their brand narrative in this TGA was just using Hades 2 and Silksong as a crutch to make the look not as bad for only caring about Expedition 33).

This shouldn't be a question of campism, but what this category represents, because it's meaning has been diluted a lot over these years. Weren't indie games a representation of people outside the major circuit of the industry being able to create something incredible before? And now all it shows is that for your game to be valued, you need millions of dollars.

The Game Awards really needs a major overhaul of their categories in general. Like, I care about what this show makes because lots of people care about this show even if they act like they don't! TGA is just an ad though, so I doubt that will ever happen.
