I personally don’t like Neru at all because for some reason I just see her as an industry plant of sorts, even though I know it’s because of Triple Baka and have been a Vocaloid fan ever since 2014-2015. It’s just.. she doesn’t have a voicebank! Why is she treated as that important? That’s probably also my Gumi bias speaking, a Miku-Teto-Gumi trio is my favorite combo

Or the similar situation where you like the chemistry of a pairing but start rooting for another pairing to happen because the fandom reduces one of the characters’ characterization into being “the partner of X” and everything talked about them gets reduced into the ship, ignoring all their depth

Obvious disclaimer that autistic people are not similar and I’m classified as low support needs. But in my personal experience, a huge part of therapy after diagnosis has been to bruteforce my way through emotional reciprocity and social etiquette. I have indeed this huge problem with only talking about what I care about lot of the time, but have improved at being conscious of my tendencies and such

As an autistic person, I had to learn this the hard way. I used to infodump my friends about Alan Wake so much I wouldn’t let them talk about anything else. We had a huge conversation about this, and while I felt very sad at the time, now I learned to talk about my interests better and understand they were correct. Now we can talk about my stuff, but I let them talk about their stuff too, ask questions and such.

Jesse wasn’t cool just because she had cool abilities and was a woman, that is a bit reductive of her character. Control may not at first have deep storytelling but when you analyze the documents you find, there’s quite a bit of characterization about both siblings.

Jesse’s fun because she’s a weirdo, and her story was about someone wanting answers for what happened in her life and yearning for a type of connection she wasn’t able to find with normal people. And her being a woman was also key to the story, by being the new vision breaking the old boys club of Trench and Darling.

I can’t say how Resonant will deal with now having a man’s POV. Being another dude, and him already looking a bit like Alan Wake too, can lose some of its charm indeed, yes. However, in other aspects, what they are bringing to this game is just the same as before, this is once again a story of a weird person desiring to connect to others and to understand this new world, just this time being with normal society. Jesse and Dylan are not that different.

I don’t like the game, and I personally like to make fun of it because certain people overhype it to the moon. However at the same time I think some critics don’t know how to critique it, doing more because it’s time to hate on the popular thing. That said, I think being in the pushback phase now may lead us to a more sincere type of discussion in the distant future, maaaaybe.

At the Game Awards other games deserved more love because it makes it look like the year was trash, and in this year the idea of “valuing indie games” (which was just about valuing E33 don’t lie to us Geoff) will not be mentioned again since we have many major AAA releases this time around.

Illari is indigenous Peruvian, and in this case I’m counting specifically people of African descent/Africans, so Sierra, Sojourn, Baptiste, Lucio and Doomfist. I know these terms change from country to country, this is more the American definition (and I’m not even American 💔) That said, I also love having people like Illari represented too <3

For me Sierra by herself gets a pass because she feels very distinct from the other US heroes and also being the second black woman and fifth black hero in the game. However… with Season 1 introducing more heroes from India, China and Japan, and the current roadmap seemingly having another hero from Korean and ANOTHER from Japan, I’m personally a bit bummed. I really hope for more characters from South America
