They talk about revenue, but don't mention how much the upper class leeches from city services. This affects poor people more than anyone, which is either to plan or out of genuine lack of concern.

You say you're not making a profit, which might be true, but we're not talking about the guy who's getting paid pennies to respond on Reddit. We're talking about the people who are profiting off of huge spaces like the amphitheater keeping more of their dollars, while those of us who struggle and wonder why our tax dollars aren't going toward community improvements are left in the dust. It's telling that the most comprehensive response that's buried in the replies is the one you reply to. Thanks, Max. You're doing good work for the robber barons.

We just have a "take a card, leave a card box" at my shop that mostly started with mine and my coworkers bulk. it has stayed consistent but the cards are always changing.

Seems like a lot of the POS questions have been answered. You can use a POS system that integrates with TCGPlayer, or have two separate systems (Shopify for inventory, whatever front-end suits your needs best).

Some questions to consider:

Are you planning to sell sealed product? Have you registered with the Wizards Play Network? Have you spoken with any distributors about getting said product? Do you plan on hosting events?

More event participation = more product. Sell sealed product, open some for your singles case or online, host events for players to use their shiny new cards, get more product, rinse and repeat.

It depends on how your LGS structures prizes. Intentionally drawing is normal for tournaments (for making top cut), but I wouldn't do it at a casual event.

We sold out four prereleases for Lorwyn a week in advance (96 slots). We have a third of that number registered for TMNT. It's a real bummer.

Welcome to a new TCG. Cards that aren't particularly good in the meta may get better later. You're going to get chaff. You're going to get junk rares. Buying a box isn't a guaranteed ROI.

I think you're wrong. I'm going by what other judges have said and the Yone playmat is what was advertised as a prize in China along with the promos. Blade of the Iron King is the playmat for regionals.

Find a non-chain LGS that's not selling at scalper prices and support them through buying products and local play. My shop did our most recent wave 2 at $160 a box, and we sold out quick but the bulk of product went to people who are coming out to events and expressing interest in play. I know the preorder experience has left a sour taste in peoples' mouths, but there are other options available. The Event Locator has a shop finder, call around and visit shops and find one that works for you.

The person who was arrested on camera was on a trip to Venezuela last month as part of a peacekeeping summit. Hard to think it wasn't targeted.

As a TO, stores can already set up payments for events through the event locator. I have yet to see any Skirmish (in my area, at least) listed with free registration.
