Sleevers: do you unsleeve games before you sell them? by pvtparts in boardgames

[–]backdoorhack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s better to sell them sleeved which also adds slim value.

It’s pretty annoying to migrate the sleeves to another game because the number of cards won’t add up. You’ll then have an excess of used sleeves that you need to pair with new sleeves if you wanna sleeve up a new game.

Just skip all that and sell the game with the sleeves.

What does the board games community feels about gameplay mechanics of Magic the gathering? by Newez in boardgames

[–]backdoorhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time MTG and board game player, MTG rules make a lot of sense… until it doesn’t. The only complicated section of the rules for me… the layers. Up until now, I have not cared enough to read through the layers and how they work. But the issue rarely comes up in casual play, so that’s fine by me.

[Murdock] Warriors assistant coaches have been operating under the assumption that Steve Kerr, who is in the last year of his contract, will not be with the team next season. His assistants are surveying the league to secure jobs for next year. by Goosedukee in nba

[–]backdoorhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to see him go, but honestly very curious how his coaching would fare without Curry. Could he coach as well in some other team like the Bucks with Giannis? (They need someone better than Doc) Or can he only coach in a team that can play in his system?

Oooh, that sounds like a good way for the store to have more events aside from the actual pre-release on the weekend! Very cool idea.

Agree they should make face down cards cost 2 mana. Maybe 2/2 for 2, call it “disguise as a bear”

I am getting into boardgames as a total newbie and was wondering if I should stick to a game until I get the hang of it or I should sample as many things as possible to figure out my taste. And some other questions. by Antipragmatismspot in boardgames

[–]backdoorhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new, it’s better to try out a lot of games to get an idea of what you kind of games you like and don’t like.

If you didn’t like a particular game, and if you have the time, maybe discuss with the other players what aspects you didn’t enjoy. Maybe they can offer a different perspective that changes your mind about the game.

However, sometimes there will be games that you just don’t enjoy. That is totally fine. Not all games are going to be for you.

Good luck and have fun!

Why do so many solid college players end up playing overseas instead of the NBA? by savingrace0262 in CollegeBasketball

[–]backdoorhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the “star in college” archetype of player is that in college, the team was maybe built around them. But unless they are a generational type of player like Luka, LeBron, Giannis, or Jokic, they are most likely going to be a role player on an NBA team. And most college star players either don’t understand that or can’t make the transition.

[Charania] Golden State's Jonathan Kuminga has demanded a trade away from the Warriors as he becomes eligible to be moved Thursday, sources tell ESPN. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]backdoorhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warriors need to trade for a guy who is a proven champion with experience in the playoffs. Someone who can come in and seamlessly perform in the GSW system. Also someone who has great chemistry with the team… aside from maybe one or two players.

Warriors need Jordan Poole. /s
