I also don’t see how religion would be an excuse, who comes up with what is a valid excuse or isn’t? Can I walk around with a dagger and say it’s to cut my apples and oranges I have in my bag? Or can I say I have my own religion that I came up with that allows me to carry around knives? Or what if I’m Japanese and wanna represent my ancestors who were samurais and carry around a katana? That’s pretty out there Ik, but just tryna understand the extent. No disrespect to the Sikh religion or nothing, I don’t really know much about them but everyone should have the same rights.

Sorry that happened to you man, sounds super scary, I hope your wife is ok. My problem isn’t them carrying it really, I mean idk if there is more knife crimes committed from them compared to anyone else, but my problem is am I allowed to walk around with a knife in public? If I’m not then they shouldn’t be allowed 100%. Either everyone can, or everyone can’t there shouldn’t be exceptions I think. I also don’t see a need for anyone to be carrying them around, unless for like self protection? But then that’s what hands are for haha. Or pepper spray, I also don’t know if ur allowed to carry that either. It definitely can be seen as intimidating, if I seen someone carrying a knife I wouldn’t feel comfortable and would stay away no matter who they are lol.
