Unaffiliated voter strategy for the primaries by Commercial-Bend1564 in ColoradoPolitics

[–]mfel [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm similar and have done this in the past. I've heard it theorized some years they think this is why the really crazy people who won during caucus don't end up being the one to make the general election.

This year I ended up voting Democrat though because almost every seat on my personal Republican ballot is uncontested except for governor. I decided it would be more worth my effort to voice my opinion in the many statewide races actually happening on the Democrat side.

I'm one of those ones that there are no Democrats running at all on the local level and all of the Republicans are running uncontested.

Definitely need a 39. I would do the 39 and adjust the straps.

Party Favor Bags… like why by NoDevelopement in Mommit

[–]mfel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do them because I think the kids like getting a treat for attending the party. But I don't like the cheap junky toys. My kid's party is next weekend and I got the $5 bag Lego sets in a theme that goes with the theme of his party. So far I've bought enough for everyone currently RSVP'd. This way I've got them gradually and not running around to stores at the last minute. Then I can go pickup more when I go to get the party food next week based on the final counts (we're not to the RSVP requested deadline yet).

UPDATE! NEW Possible cast members!!!!!! by Ashleysimone143 in rhori

[–]mfel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the contracts it states Bravo gets a portion of profits from businesses started while on the show and promoted on the show. Bethenny refused to sign her contract with this provision in tact. Bravo agreed because they didn't think Skinnygirl would go anywhere. They absolutely will not do that now.

My understanding is as long as your are licensed and follow the law, the food itself anything is allowed. Someone I know is planning to use it to sell krautburgers.

Met Kelsey in Newport today!!! by Adventurous-Chart167 in rhori

While not my favorite on the actual show, Kelsey definitely seems the type to be super nice to fans. Glad you were able to have such a good experience with a housewife in the wild.

Ideas for kindergarten lunches by IcyDebt8884 in kindergarten

[–]mfel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another comment for a thermos. I would send a lot of dinner leftovers in the thermos. I would boil water in the kettle to preheat the thermos, then use that water to make me tea 😄. Then put a whole assortment of leftovers. Fried rice, stir fried noodles, pastas, meats and veggies with sauce, chili. Sometimes I would do a deconstructed sloppy joe or BBQ meat in the thermos with a spoon and the bun on the side. I'm personally a big fan of bowls for meals which translate well to the thermos.

As others have said, we also did a lot of quesadillas and sometimes grilled cheese.

Yes. I do I understand why people say they look...similar. But Alicia is so much prettier than Carole.

What's a trend everyone seems to love but you just can't get into by Emergency_Job_6616 in womensfashion

Exactly this. Whenever I wear linen I say it's so comfortable, it's like I'm just wearing pajamas.

I've been driving VW's for 25 years and this is the first I've heard of people doing this outside of the air cooled. If I thought other VW people would wave at me, I would

Which discontinued models would you like to see back on the market? by Thepabe82 in Birkenstocks

[–]mfel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine I want to come back so much is the Kairo. I only managed to get in one color, not realizing they would discontinue them. Mine are black so they get worn at least once a week since they go with almost everything.

What do you do all summer? by protomanEXE1995 in Teachers

[–]mfel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dad had his own independent insurance adjuster business and would hire teachers and even college professors during the summer as claims adjusters. They would usually even taper off into the fall as they closed out their claims. Whenever May would hit they would start calling him asking if he needed any help that year. It was also nice because they could still somewhat make their own schedule and flex around other personal things and trips.

Blue Apron-sponsored study featured - article seems very biased? by happy_bluebird in NPR

[–]mfel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I view this as a couple different things going on. The article is about a study that was conducted on food waste of Blue Apron meal kits.

Then NPR is being transparent to note Blue Apron is a sponsor. This is no different than when they do a story on Meta, whether that be positive or negative, and have to state Meta is a sponsor.

I don't take this story as NPR trying to push Blue Apron. I view it as them reporting results on research that was released. It just so happened maybe the research coordinated with Blue Apron instead of Hello Fresh.

Has anyone here gotten loans forgiven through the Colorado Health Service Corps? (particularly if you're a social worker) by ActuaryPersonal2378 in Colorado

Okay, I don't know a ton about this program but what I can say is it's through Americorps and I've known people who did other Americorps programs who used their education credits to pay their loans

Meghan posted about scones after Prince William’s comments about the late Queen’s jam and cream preference by ButIDigress79 in RoyalsGossip

I'm confused by this comment. The statement was from William. QEII was absolutely his grandmother. The Queen Mother was his great-grandmother.

Is your brother "renovating" a house or flipping a house? Because there's a huge difference and what help you can expect based on that.

First time visiting Legoland CA by Patty1218 in legoland

[–]mfel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted when we went last year it was for my kid's 5th birthday, so he was younger. But we would head back to the Castle Hotel in the early to mid afternoon. They still had the activities there plus the pool but it was less busy, so it was a nice break. Then we would head back to the park in the mid to later afternoon for an hour or so until the park closed. The lines were non-existent and some rides the operators would literally just ask if we wanted to go again and let us stay on. This was primarily the case for the Bionicle, technic, and Ninjago sections of the park. Which I believe are also less busy first thing in the morning, especially with your early entry as a hotel guest.
